Sly And The Family Stone's Back Catalog To Be Remastered Good news!!!...
Sly is back. Epic Records is reissuing those classic Sly And The Family Stone albums from the 60's and {his groundbreaking innovative funk albums of the 70's}. Sly is one of the most important figures of funk and he carried the 70's r&B music scene on his back. You couldn't have had War, Kool And The Gang, Ohio Players, PFunk, Cameo, Barkays and many others without Sly. Him and James Brown are two of the most important artists in R&B/funk music...period. Sly is cooperating with Sony Records on this project. These albums will be digitally remastered{probably 20-bit remastered} for superior sound. Watch out, this is gonna be stellar. Let's hope Sly will give up some unreleased gems. I've seen the "Essential Sly And The Family Stone" 2-CD overview in the stores{Sony is getting the reissue/remastering of Sly albums started with this overview, next will be the individual albums themselves}. Ole Sly with that big bad afro and those huge sideburns and those pimped out threads he dons. To a new generation of kids, these Sly reissues will be an education. But for everybody else this will be just a confirmation of how brillant and important Sly is as it relates to R&B/Funk and music history PERIOD. I hope when they reissue THERE'S A RIOT GOING ON, they will bring back the original artwork for it which was a picture of the American Flag on it with some of the stars missing on it. My uncle has a vinyl copy of this 1971 album. I think it is a collector's item. Here's the link... http://www.slystonemusic.com/ Later, BRO915

That´s so great!About time!!!
Sly Stone´s music deserves the best. It´s a shame how the packaging 2 "There´s a riot going on" look. Now just think if they would include Little Sister singles You´re the one, Stanga & Somebody´s watching you along with some live stuff. /peace Manki
