Donny Hathaway must´ve been 1 of Luther´s greatest
inspirations. What album is this new version from? I think they both do a good job at it but of course they don´t beat the original. By the way Luther sang backup on the Donny/Robertas last duet album 1980. /peace Manki

It's ok, nothing to run home about but it's not bad either. If Luther is in it, it's automatically going to be good. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Luther should have done this song with a better singer, like Sade or Natalie Cole.Beyonce is cute and all,but a song like this deserves a more soulful duet partner.

or Lalah Hathaway /peace Manki Damn u Manki you always hit on the very right nerve She can't touch Roberta Thats for sure. With that said Beyonce brought her own flavor to it, I can credit her for that. Luther what can you say that dude can as they say "read a phone book and make it sound good". Over all I still like the old joint much much better.

People hate on Beyonce entirely too much. The girl can sing, her pitch is always dead on, her tonality is rich and her timbre is aurally pleasing...what's the problem? I'd gladly take her over some of these non-singing individuals who supposedly have soul (i.e. Lauren Hill who is quite often terribly, horribly off key...)
Love the song, love Beyonce, love Lutha the most...hope he gets better.
