I don't know when it happened on here, but for me personally, none of Janet Jackson's releases have ever been a big deal to me, period.

So it makes good sense you dropped into this thread, then.

A question was asked, I answered....makes perfect sense.

my mistake, then...i never even checked for her last album... i just knew they didnt work on "Discipline" and it was trash...thanks for the correction

Yes, RJOrion..."Unbreakable" is a good little album, completely Flyte Tyme-produced! The best song for me is "No Sleeep," but I prefer the version without the J. Cole rap. Beautiful, sultry little song that she wraps her smooth, creamy vocals around. Ck it out and hope u LOVE it! <3

Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

I saw Janet Jackson front row in 2015 before my world went to total shit, and she blew a kiss straight to me during the rap to "No Sleeep".

i like a few of the slow to midtempo songs, "After You Fall", "Lessons Learned", "Broken Hearts Heal", and "Promise"...but if i had listened to this album without knowing Jimmyjam & terrylewis produced it, i would have never guessed it... none of the uptempo songs sound anything like them... i miss their trademark sound that i was expecting to hear...not a bad lp though...

I got my color vinyl of Control, janet., The Velvet Rope and Control: The Remixes. Everything is so beautiful and well done. I listened to the first disk of the latter 3, but didn't get to Control yet. They're all well done.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

You know how they are re-releasing her albums on vinyl this month? Well, apparently, "Whoops Now" wasn't on vinyl until now. Sooooo... that could be part of the idea here.

I've no doubt he'll grow up handsome as anything, since both his parents are blessed with good genes. Hopefully he won't garner the worse parts of his father's controlling and misogynist traits.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

when she became old and stale.... no offense.... It happens with all artists, in a market really driven by the 18-34 demographic... no one gets excited when an artist over 40 releases anything new... sad, but true.

It has not happened yet. The last time there was a new release from Janet Jackson last year, the thread about it ran for six pages: https://prince.org/msg/8/456023

I would expect the next time actual new music from her comes out (and not like this false alarm thread), it will generate the same amount of enthusiasm.

Ehhh... might have a strong opening week but that’s about it. As with anyone her age, she has her diehards that will follow and that’s about it....

The question was why isn't a new Janet Jackson release a big deal on the org? I provided proof that less than a year ago, her last new release--a single--generated a six-page thread. That's somewhat of a big deal on the org.

You're talking about something else which is not the subject of this thread.

I am sorry...I thought you were talking mainstream media.... Not an artist site's on a sub-page...
