Damn if this show was in my area I would be all in. Morris Day and The Time are coming to a small town outside my area in June but I've seen them enough times. I would love to see One Way. I've seen some clips of them on Youtube and they sound pretty good live. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

yeah,I went nuts when I first saw this flyer this lineup is superb.I've never seen Bar Kays and SOS Band live before,so I'm really, really excited.I have seen One Way a few times and they put on an explosive performance...including an amazingly funky, lengthy version of "Mr.Groove"!!

I wonder,though....which Lakeside is gonna appear? Will it be Mark Woods' Lakeside,or the original members who call themselves 'The Original Lakeside'?

FYI, and this is only for the serious funk connoisseurs, Zapp is a damn good show and will be worth the price of admission. * Some of the other acts on the bill still have good stage shows (especially SOS Band) but DO NOT SLEEP ON ZAPP!!!!

I totally agree.I have seen them in concert many times and they put on a dazzling performance.I miss Roger,of course, but he would be proud if he could see how they are keeping the funk alive. They released a new CD last year and it is excellent, btw.

has anyone seen Slave recently? I wanna know what their live performances are like

I saw Slave a few years ago at a Soul Food Festival in Charlotte with The Stone City Band and a few others. That version of Slave was good but I'm don't think it was Danny Webster's version. The version I saw I couldn't pick out any original members but it had a female version of Starleana Young in it. I saw clips of Danny Webster's version on Youtube and they didn't have a female in the group. Slave I believe actually had more people on their feet than any other group. It seemed like all the brothers was going wild for Slave. Don't laugh at my funk

I could see myself going to San Jose on 7/20; it would be a great chance to see all of these groups for the first time. Jeux Sans Frontiers
