Oh well, let’s face it...nobody outside of the .org gives a rats ass about a new Madonna album in...let me just check my calendar real quick...2019?!? 2019...well, fuck me...not only is Madonna as old as time, seems like I am, too [Edited 4/21/19 2:47am]
Madame X Deluxe 2CD (18 Tracks / Hardcover Book 32 pages)

7-inch Picture Disc (I Rise)

If only I still had my wonderful 1998 Sony cassette player
It's interesting that cassette tapes are now popular again. The box set looks cool, but I decided to just get the 2-CD set which is sold separately.I don't really need all the other goodies.

Yeah I think I'll eventually purchase this one as well. But only if I enjoy listening to it on Spotify first
interestingly, one of the bonus tracks (available on the box set and the 2-CD edition) is "Back That Up To The Beat".This unreleased track is a Pharrell-produced outtake from Rebel Heart. It's rumored that the new version was reworked by Mirwais. This is the 2014 original version....
The Like a Prayer 30th year release is total garbage, not sure WHO was behind putting that piece of crap but its awful. As for this new record she is like Mariah she works with whoever is happening at the moment, ANITTA is the most viewed female artist in the world, right with Natti Natasha and Becky G surprised they all werent on the record.
"We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F
Oh really? When I first saw the tracklist for this album,I had no idea who these guest artists are.Maluma? Annita? I can't name any of their solo songs.

that's because we're getting old, soulalive we're younger than madonna, but we don't know who's 'hot' right now
"Medellin" is too slow for me to get into. Next single please! Also, who is Maluma's manager? He is blowin' up this year.
He's hot as hell (and he knows it, which decreases his number for me). I don't think it's too slow. I thought "Wow, nice song, but she's not giving away too much with the first time." I like the mystery.
Just as a note: "Frozen", "Erotica", "Live To Tell", and "Secret" were all lead singles, and mid-tempo or slower tempos.
Hell, even MJ started BAD with "I Just Can't Stop Loving You", and that record ended up having more #1 singles than Thriller.
There have been a few times when Madonna releases a song and I think "I don't like [this element] of it. It's silly." Then a week later I think "this needs to be here". I like "Medellin" in general, and it certainly beats "Living For Love" from that dismal Rebel Heart pile of shit as a whole.

The thing is, it isn't quite a ballad, it is a sluggish groove. I need it to be at least as fast as Janet's similarly trend-hopping "Made For Now".
It certainly can't compare to the ballads listed above. Imagine what her legacy would be after Erotica's floppage without Secret, Take a Bow, and Frozen becoming big hits.

To me, "Frozen", "Secret", and "Erotica" were sluggish grooves. Not bad songs by any means; the latter two are favorites. Madge often gets coupled with dance songs (like George Michael), so I can appreciate when they step back from that for a minute and put out something different. Hell, look at how Unbreakable sold when Janet released the drowsy "No Sleeep"? I loved that track, and I didn't care WTF was on the album. I was just happy to hear some new music.
At this point, I'm moer anxious for the video and visual. No doubt a lot of South American flavor is going to be in it. I almost feel like it's going to be a mash-up of "La Isla Bonita", "Buenos Aires", and "Take A Bow"/"You'll See" aesthetic. Cultural Appropriation WTF! haha
BeYOND excited! LOVE this woman's art and HEART! <3

So, hours ago Madonna made a series of Instagram posts with cryptic messages and then some short videos of her playing various instruments, including one of her stating "I've decided to call my new record Madame X". Coupled with that, she has put out a spotify playlist called "#magic" with six songs, of which the initial letters form "M-A-D-A-M-EX". Anyone excited?
Too many "feat." yet again for my liking ... as always, will reserve judgment until I give it a listen though ... got fingers, toes, and everything else crossed ...
I gotta give her credit...it seems like she really wanted to do something different this time. She’s always done latin music styles in the past but this time,it seems that she went all the way with it....even singing in Spanish on the first single. It’s a bold move for her.

Maybe I'm getting pessimistic in my old age, maybe I've been about for too many new M releases now ... but all of her last few albums were meant to be "something different this time".
The pre-release hype always sounds like she wanted to do something different than before but its been years since she actually delivered on that promise (and I say that as a huge fan who has enjoyed every album she's done). We'll see though ... here's hoping ...

oh come on.....look at the song titles and the guest artists....this doesn't seem like a typical Madonna dance/pop album this looks like something deeper and much more interesting.

It's because we want to party with their new music.

Even that was pretty slow for my liking! She had to blow me a kiss in concert to "No Sleeep" before I decided I liked it.
