The performance was well done, but both songs are really boring. Hard candy was her last good album and mdna was average. Have loved her my whole life but her recent work bores me

Hard Candy was garbage, IMO. MDNA took a little time to grow on me, but I definitely rate it well above HC (but it's not as bad as American Life). The song is low-key, but there's a party feel to it without being a 130bpm dance anthem. The performance was a cool augmented reality. I like the message of "I Rise", if you focus on the lyrics.

The whole album will still tell the bigger picture, obviously.

I feel you on the boring stuff. I still feel like she's dipping into this compressed electronica-esque shit that I'm so over. She should have abandoned it after Confessions On A Dance Floor (which was a wonderful and fun album) and went in another direction. She needs to stop trying to dig up every 21 year old with GarageBand or a bootleg copy of ProTools to produce her album. I'm hopeful that Mirwas is back on this record. ørbit would have been a nice one to have back, although - that dips into the electronica field.

I still always hold out hope for ol' girl with new music. I like the South American feel on "Medellion", and I hope there is more of that on the record.

He didn't pretend he was missing an eye. He didn't wear an armbrace and he didn't wear a band aid on his nose as a fashion statement on stage or at any high profile professional appearance. Having bandaids on your finger or having an eye patch in your face, when your eyes are perfectly okay, is a) a totally different ballpark and b) totally makes you look like an idiot. And any fan is allowed to say that.

Also that performance and song is kinda lame. La Isla Bonita (which was perfect) in very, very bad. What's it with this desperate latin stuff? Janet did something similar last year and now she has to follow suit?!

[Edited 5/3/19 9:06am]

I thought he wore the arm brace at the Super Bowl, and maybe in the Black or White video? But I might be wrong. Edited to add: Holy shit, I think he was wearing both the arm brace and the finger pads on the Dangerous Tour...in your PROFILE PICTURE!!!?!? Come on, that’s just too perfect. You got got, Patrick. [Edited 5/3/19 9:29am]

If that's what you call an arm brace... at least that looks cool. An eye patch over your healthy eye, which makes you only see half of the stuff, makes you look like a fool. No 2 ways about it. The only thing that is got is your dislike for MJ, which doesn't change anything I had said before. In fact, none of my comments had anything to do with MJ. He never ran around a stage wearing a fucking eye patch.

an interesting Billboard article about the rollout of the Madame X album and the different promotion ideas that they are using.....

Madonna's Ambitious 'Mada... Billboard

“[The album] is a journey, and there are a lot of chapters,” Thompson explains of the decision to slowly trickle out five tracks ahead of the release, a deviation from Madonna’s previous rollouts. Her last album, 2015’s Rebel Heart, suffered leaks months ahead of release, resulting in six songs being rushed out early for an iTunes pre-order. “In a world where we’re more song-driven than we’ve been in a long time as an industry, it became a real question and a challenge: How do we make sure that people really understand this album by the time it comes out, but still have songs that can be hit singles in certain areas?”

To that end, “Crave” with Swae Lee will become the de facto pop radio single upon its release, with an official music video to soon follow. Meanwhile, “Medellín” -- which received a global television launch across Viacom networks in April -- will continue being pushed in Latin markets. The decision to lead with “Medellín” instead of “Crave” came down to the belief that it was “the signature track to the body of work, and the right place to start telling the story,” says Thompson. He adds, “I think we have a good shot to get a top five club record with some [‘Medellín’] remixes, and get that song into people’s spaces that they might not anticipate.” (Madonna has notched a record 57 top five-charting hits on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart.)

So far,I'm very impressed with the rollout of this album. So many exciting things going on and everything seems to be timed just perfectly.Tour announcement on Monday and then later next week (Friday),we get the official second single "Crave"....soon to be followed by a music video biggrin and unlike Rebel Heart, this time they kept everything locked up and secure, lol.

Fun interview with Billboard shortly after her performance. She mentions how they're rolling out a smorgesbord of treats leading up to the album (and aforementioned herein). I sorta don't wanna hear them but I do. I don't want too many that it spoils the album. Maybe she's trying to get the jump on leaks, like happened with that trash pit Rebel Heart. Anyhoo...

I heard a fan-made remix and it is excellent. It’s not one of those loud, repetitive EDM remixes. It’s a mellow, relaxed remix.Hopefully the official remixes will be like the one I heard.

“People have always been trying to silence me for one reason or another, whether it’s that I’m not pretty enough, I don’t sing well enough, I’m not talented enough, I’m not married enough, and now it’s that I’m not young enough,” she tells Aitkenhead. “So they just keep trying to find a hook to hang their beef about me being alive on. Now I’m fighting ageism, now I’m being punished for turning 60.”

Madonna has not felt particularly supported by women throughout her career. She is grateful for the artists who worked against all odds and defied convention before her, such as Frida Kahlo. “There are no living role models for me,” she concedes. “Because nobody does what I do. And that’s kind of scary. I can look back at women who I think were great and amazing – freedom fighters, like Simone de Beauvoir or Angela Davis – but they didn’t have kids. Being a single parent of six children, I continue to be creative and be an artist and be politically active, to have a voice, to do all the things that I do. So I mean, there isn’t anybody in my position.”

I'm hoping that this time out she'll change things up a bit. I'm NOT FEELING the first single at ALL. I think it's horribly bland for an album's kickoff. Wish she'd've rethought it. Same with Rebel Heart's Living For Love. Not strong enough 2 have kicked it off. It would have behooved her 2 have kicked off with "Bitch, I'm Madonna." We shall SEE... <3

Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

I feel the same way."Medellin" has grown on me a little, but it's not the type of song that should be a first single. The next single,"Crave", comes out on Friday so we'll see how that goes.Supposedly,it's more uptempo and danceable.

Yeah, it can get confusing. The UK Chart Company limited the number of songs that an artist can have on the singles chart after Ed Sheeran took all but one place in the top 10 when his last album was released. Only the three most popular songs by an artist are now allowed to make the list. Maybe more artists should follow Adele and Taylor Swift and keep their albums off of streaming platforms for a few months after release to help generate physical sales.

This just show how bullshit charts are. So you can have 4 songs being to most popular in a country, but one song will not appear becuase of a certain rule. Another song from another artist will be there, which is not the most popular, but because of this rule all of a sudden is

Yeah. Nonsense innit. Charts should reflect what people are buying, not what's popular on radio or streaming services. Charts went tits up in the 80s when Billboard started compiling what was popular due to sales crossed with airplay popularity.

It’s kind of hard to base charts on sales now when physical singles aren’t released anymore.

I love these dressed down looks on her for Vogue. It takes me to her True Blue days when she was in jeans, crop tops, short hair, that cleaned-up look after what we knew with Like A Virgin. Some of those pics go further back to her dance school days, and nudie photos that were later published (to which she said, "so what"). It beats the blond hair & eye patch by a country mile as far as aesthetic.

The Vogue photos were a tribute to Anne Sexton, one of her favorite poets. I like both sides of her fashion, but I think she definitely looks better as a blonde.

I love that speech too. I also read the transcript too very deep moving. Madonna rocks she always been an ally to the community since day one. That is why I dig her along with Janet Jackson they had always been supportive of gay rights before it became popular to do so.

Also her latest pictures is smoking hot. I am sorry that she have to fight aging but it is part of life and she has to embrace that.

I like her new song too. I don't expected her to constant reinvent herself she needs to stop that now that she is older and continue to make her base happy. Just make some good pop dance hits that I came to love about her. She has nothing to prove anymore and I think that is stressing her out not only with aging and to stay revelent but want to revent herself. Nothing wrong with expertimenting new sound and looks but still the goal right now for her is to keep her base happy and to continue to perform as long as she able to.

To be honest I prefer her wear brunette and dark hair it compliment her beauty as I don't care when she wears blonde hairstyles. But she change her looks too damn much haha.

The residency-like tour will play multiple dates in small venues in New York, Chicago and L.A.
Madonna announced a slate of Madame X tour dates on Monday (May 6) that will bring the international superstar to intimate venues across the country for a series of residency-like multi-night runs in theaters.

The Live Nation-promoted tour will kick off on Sept. 12, with the first of seven nights at New York's 2,100-capacity BAM Howard Gilman Opera House.

The tour will feature multiple nights at the Chicago Theatre in October and five nights at The Wiltern in Los Angeles in November, with a press release promising dates in Las Vegas (The Colosseum), Boston (Boch Center Wang Theatre), Philadelphia (The Met) and Miami (Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theatre) to be announced at a later date. The Madame X tour will pick up again in early 2020 with shows in Lisbon (The Coliseum), London (The Palladium) and Paris (Grand Rex).

The 15-track Madame X album is due out on June 14; fans have already gotten a taste of the eclectic sounds on the album via "Medellin" with Maluma and the just-released "I Rise." We are proud and excited to be able to deliver this ultimate opportunity for her fans," said Madonna’s long-time promoter Arthur Fogel, president - Global Touring and chairman - Global Music, Live Nation.

I love Madonna...seen almost every tour beginning with the ‘Blonde Ambition tour’ in 1990.Didn’t get to see ‘The Girlie Show’ because it didn’t come to my area.Seen the last 6 Madonna tours and enjoyed them all.

However...I’m gonna skip this new tour.I’m thrilled that she’s stripping things down a bit and playing a more intimate show. The fans who are going are in for a real treat.

It’s just that I’ve seen her in concert so many times and there are many other artists and bands that I still want to see. This time,I’m gonna chill and check out the new album.Plus, this new tour will be on blu-ray next year anyway biggrin

Madonna on MJ accusations:

“I don’t have a lynch-mob mentality, so in my mind, people are innocent until proven guilty,” she said in the interview, excerpts of which were published Tuesday in...ndependent. “I’ve had a thousand accusations hurled at me that are not true. So my attitude when people tell me things about people is, ‘Can you prove it?’”

When asked about what she would interpret as proof of Jackson’s guilt, Madonna replied, “I don’t know, I haven’t seen the film. But I guess it would be people recounting actual events ― but then, of course, people sometimes lie.”

“So I always say, ‘What’s the agenda? What do people want out of this? Are there people asking for money, is there some kind of extortion thing happening?’” she added. “I would take all of those things into consideration.”
