The timing was coordinated down to the minute, she said. Noel-Schure was in her home country of Grenada for a friend’s wedding when got news that Prince had died. She waited for the go-ahead from his business manager to start the album’s rollout. Specifically, she waited for word that his cremation was complete before sending out a press release announcing Lemonade’s release on HBO and Tidal.

“I just remember the weirdness of waiting for it [during the wedding ceremony],” she told Elle. “I got the text saying, The cremation is done. You can send it out.

Really? That's what you consider a hater?

Am I missing something? Why would she be expected to delay anything because of Prince's death/cremation? Was he involved in the making of the album? Were they really close friends? Did he do anything to advance her career? I'm just asking because I don't follow Beyonce but I think this story is really strange and why anyone felt like she owed him this "respect".

^^^ THIS, plus what MotownSubdivison said. It's a non-story other than she waited. She didn't want any attention taken off him until that part was over. That was her respect, and it was fine for what she did. It was classy that she didn't even make a big deal that she did it.

Why not wait a couple mo' days? Billy said it best to the Kid, "Dis a bid'ness. You ain't too far gone to see dat yet!" Life goes on, and so does every scheduled album release. Besides, it was just the announcement, not the actual album. It would have come out on time anyway.

This story is weird. I think it's supposed to show her in an honorable light for "waiting," but it sounds creepy as fuck. "Oh, is he ashes yet? OK cool, roll on with my album promo then." I mean, huh??

I didn't even remember that her record promo started so soon after his passing, and if you want to pat yourself on the back about how you honored him, talk about how you gave to his favorite charities, or tributed him in some way for how his life inspired you, or how much his friendship meant to you, and if his death really affected you, that you halted your own album promotion indefinitely, out of respect, because you needed time to process his passing.

I mean, this is like saying, "Oh, I wanted to wait until he was embalmed before I dropped my record."

I think as people, we are running out of things to talk about, and just gossip, gripe, and complain about EVERYTHING these days......society seems to be getting worse day by day.

why not assume she did it not to conflict with all the attention Prince would get and she would be ignored?

I'm not a Beyonce fan but I will give her credit: lately,she's been taking time off between albums....she's no longer 'in your face' all the time she now knows the importance of "down time".I remember several years ago,this lady was everywhere,all the time,on every award show,etc.

Instead of offering POSITIVITY 2 our world that needs it so much now, stupid people insist on offering NEGATIVITY because they suck as Human beings. Go stand on a corner in D.C. with a sign that says sumpthin' that drives u personally and passionately and try 'n break out of your current, pathetic existence on Earth. Maybe drink a little LEMONADE too. It's good 4 the soul AND the soulLESS. <3
