Can anyone please tell me the name of this (German?) TV presenter?

I once travelled in the States with a Dutch guy who looked exactely like him (except older), and wondered if he could perhaps be the same person I met. Also, does anyone know the date of this interview?

Ottensen

I was trying to decipher the backstage area and go from there, but no luck. That said, Outside of his bottom teeth Rick was actually a cute dude back in the day. Who knew? lol

that is Alan Bangs, he is British but lives and works in Germany since the 70s

he was a moderator of the legendary show Rockpalast in WDR television, they had banging liveshows during the night several hours long with many international greats performing, the classic shows ran in the 70s and 80s

btw, as an extra they also implemented Prince Purple Rain from Syracuse when it was aired globally live during one of their night shows

here's the archive from their live acts, I still have some of them on some dusty old VHS tapes, like Prince Charles & City Beat Band, Huey Lewis, Al Jarreau, Kid Creole, George Clinton and of course Prince@Syracuse

https://www.rockpalastarchiv.de/rp-chron.html

so according to that list, the Rick James show and the interview must be from 1982/04/03

I saw the Parliament/Funkadelic Rockpalast concert on WDR late at night a few years ago. I think it was from the late 70s or early 80s. The Bob Marley concert was also great, I still have that one on VHS cassette. wink
