Are you guys seriously trying to compare these situations? Mayte never accused Prince of any of the things R Kelly is being accused of. To be clear, I find the mindset of Mayte's mother just as questionable as everyone else, but Mayte never said a word about questionable situations during her time with Prince is all I'm saying. The only comparison I see being made, is parents allowing their underaged daughter to go live with older men, and in Mayte's case, her parents even signing over legal guardianship to one, and THAT is what I said I will never understand their reasoning for doing such a thing, because as a parent myself, I would have NEVER done such a thing to any of my children, no matter what the situation, fame or not! Just because Prince waited until Mayte was 18 before he touched her, doesn't make him some kind of noble gentlemen, he was still way older than she was, and we all know the outcome, so apparently he had the same thing on his mind as R Kelly, but the only difference was, he was devious and smart enough to wait until she reached legal age!

I agree completely. I feel badly for any child of R Kelly that has to deal with the horrible actions of their father, and the blame lies on no one but him. Because of the type of man that R Kelly is, I couldn't have imagined him as a decent, loving, caring father anyhow. I can only imagine what this young woman and the rest of her siblings are going through, because obviously R Kelly is so sick that he sees absolutely nothing wrong with the evil things he's done, and has no remorse at all!

I agree with you, her mother set her up and I was shocked when I read in Mayte's book that her mother trusted that her daughter could handle herself. But let's be real, Prince was a small Dude yes, but that doesn't mean that he couldn't be stronger than another person and do shit to them like rape, beating them up etc. And I never said that he was a noble gentleman.....the Dude didn't really treat his women right, no matter their age.
