I bet that charity shops will get a lot of R Kelly music donated to them now. No-one will want them.

Doubtful, it hasn't seem to hurt him all these years later, which is sickening that he still has fans.

I don’t think the public at large were aware of the details. Also many of his peers are guilty of the same thing

Amen to that. A lot of people were duped, I’m not gonna lie I was a huge fan of his music back in the day, I’m also a strong believer that music is a different entity that should be precieved & treated as a completely separate entity from the artist it cane from & what they are as human beings, simply because many of the musicians we admire are super dysfunctional people. I was in disbelief when the lawsuits followed him in the early 2000s until I saw pictures of the tape. That’s when I drew the line with him.

I watched the new episodes tonight and I am disgusted by him, and the industry.

I am also disgusted by the parents who knew about the criminal trial but thought since he was found not guilty their daughers were safe.

I cried for those girls and their families, R Kelly is just plain evil! After seeing this series, that scum's career should be finished! Everyone should watch this series!

I tweeted during the last two episodes tonight. One thing I put out said, "I feel like we all need to go through some sort of cleansing ritual after watching #SurvivingRKelly. I want to crawl out of my skin to even think I share a planet with this brazen and unapologetic pedophile. #MuteRKelly #LockHimUp".

I'm going to take a shower, and read Praise Song for the Butterflies to get this demon out of my spirit tonight. I ain't going to bed with this being the last thing in my soul.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I agree, you are exactly right in what you said. and I feel the same way after watching this. This series is eye opening to the man that R Kelly really is, and if you did support him, that should change after watching this, that's for sure!

How is this man not in jail?! The new information about Aayliah made my stomach churn. It’s 6-episode and the first one was already disturbing as hell.

There will be a documentary about Prince one day and you will find this disturbing as well.

Prince toyed the line with the 18 years old girlfriends. They all say nothing happened before 18 and I doubt he was getting down like r Kelly

Who do you mean by "public at large"? Not trying to start a race riot in here, but do you mean main stream, white america because the industry folks knew, I believe that most in the African American community have known for some time. Even after this 2013 very detailed article, no one batted an eye and folks continued working with him. They don't GAF, plain and simple.

Yeah, I'm really trying to be careful and place the blame squarely where it belongs, but this is one of the things that I'm seriously having a hard time understanding. This was after the trail, where all that sh*% was put out in public view and you still let your teen daughter in his atmosphere, with the BS excuse that she was never to be alone with him? If you had ANY concerns about him, why take the chance? Did you think you're daughter was so special that it wouldn't happen to her? Dude had a decades long history of being able to manipulate minors and their families. That somehow you as a parent, had a "better" handle on the situation? Was your child having a musical career, that important to risk placing her in harms way? Just crazy.

I came back to the org just to see what you guys consensus was.
.
I will admit that when R. Kelly first came out, I was a really big fan of his work. The stuff he did on Aaliyah's first album, his first few albums and some of his work with others (Syleena Johnson, Charlie Wilson, Trisha Yearwood, Maxwell, and others) was just pure genius. After seeing this documentary, it just confirmed what I have known since the first trial, is that he is a total nutcase and predator.

.

I have thought long and hard about this. Did not ONE of his family members try to stop this? I know the guy has power, but come on, this is sickening. You can't tell me he didn't have a cousin, aunt, uncle, friend, etc. that knew how he was and was sickened by it?!?! I don't buy it.

.

Also, why have we not heard of any assination attempts on his life? If that was my daughter, I would rather spend my life in jail forbeating his ass down than to allow my child to live in that crap.

.

Is midiscover still on here? That person was such a R. Kelly supporter. Hmmm

.

Truth be told, I'm struggling with this before any documentary is out. Given that he was a 31 year old man, conversing with, and being a friend to a 16 year old; what 31 year old man has a female 16 yer old "friend"? It seems like he was attracted to her as a minor and simply waited until she was of age. Yeah, ok, props for waiting, but still an uncomfortable feeling thinking (knowing?, which I don't) that he was attracted to a minor. Were the years of communication, basically a grooming AND waiting period? UGH, don't like to think about it.

Did you miss the part where his brother Bruce said .."Robert likes younger women. You have people who have fetishes about different things. “I like older women. Go figure, you know. But that’s just a preference... Everyone has preferences. So what is the big deal? What's the big issue with my brother?”

I saw that and got pissed as well! How in the hell do you compare liking older women and being a pedophile? Hell, Robert is a predator. He pursued those women and placed them under his control. That is just sick. It amazes me how an illiterate person can be that controlling.

Wow how disappointing of the celebrities. sad

According to Billboard:

Prior to airing, Kelly's lawyer claimed the documentary was full of false allegations. In a recent interview with Detroit Free Press, producer dream hampton said that Legend would be the only celebrity to participate in the documentary. "When it comes to celebrities, It was incredibly difficult to get people who had collaborated (artistically) with Kelly to come forward. We asked Lady Gaga. We asked Erykah Badu. We asked Celine Dion. We asked Jay-Z. We asked Dave Chappelle," he explained. "(They're) people who have been critical of him. That makes John Legend even more of a hero for me."
