Both can be traced back to Andreao "Fanatic" Heard's (one od Diddy's "Hitmen") use of the sample on Lil' Kim's "Crush On You" so I'll have to go with that as it was a great crate dig result. Same chop, too.

I thought this might be about that smooth jazz guitar version of Melt Away (with Norman Brown on guitar?) that samples the same song as SWV's Rain. But thats Jaco Pistorius' Portrait of Tracy and I can't find the NB/MC version of Melt Away anywhere on the net, its like it doesn't exist. That one is a tough call, both songs are outstanding. I actually prefer the Norman Brown version of Melt Away to the album version.

Nice one on the "Crush on You" sample. Lil Kim made some catchy tunes back then.

Well yeah, Mariah's actually samples straight off of Lil' Kim's use.

Ariana, hands down. And that might sound funny coming from me considering I compared her unfavourably to Mariah just a couple weeks back on this forum. I love 'Right There'.
