Paramount Pictures has just released the first trailer for Rocketman, a fantasy/biopic starring Taron Egerton as a young Elton John.

Rocketman is more of a musical fantasy story than a biopic, centering on Elton John’s early years in the music business. Expect a dramatized retelling of his life and career from his time at the Royal Academy of Music through his rise to fame, struggles with drug addiction, and his partnership with Bernie Taupin.

Rocketman has John’s husband David Furnish among its producers, and John himself has an executive producer credit.

OMG, I can't wait. I actually met Elton back in 79 or 80, don't remember the exact year. I worked at an amusement park and Elton was in town for a concert. He requested that we shut the park down for him and his entourage, so we did and they all came to my ride and I buckled him in and spoke to him for a moment.

This should be great! Elton is a true musical icon.
