Studio last week: hiphop 2018 is driving me insane I just spent and entire day at the biggest studio in Atlanta last week. In every damn studio all they were playing is Migos, Young Thug, Cardi B, etc........ I really tried to listen and like the music they were working on......I simply could not. The music all sounds the same, the lyrics are grammer school and the shit almost drove me over the edge.
I was going to be doing some producing over there but quite frankly, I'm not qualified to make the B.S. that they call music in 2018.
2 say that is is frustrating would be an understatement of the year. FOOLS multiply when WISE Men & Women are silent.

I understand why you dislike the ones you mentioned in your post but how do you feel about other relatively new hip hop artists such as Kendrick Lamar, J.Cole, Kid Cudi, Lupe Fiasco, etc. etc.? But yeah, I absolutely understand what you mean. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I stopped listening to rap in 1996 and even then it was on a slippery slope. Songs like Hay by Crucial Conflict and Blackberry Molassas by Mista, were signs we were all heading into spoken anthems on drug abuse, fucking bitches, bling bling and shooting people. . Even then there was all this shit glorifying thugs like Thug Devotion and every year rap got shittier and shittier, artists with less and less talent, dancing became flexing and throwing up gang signz. By 2006 we had shit like Does your chain hang low by Jiggs, Chicken noodle soup and Fry that chicken and Big Things Popping by ??? Now we have Lil Pump, Migos, 2 chainz, Cardi B and Designer. The music is all repitition and swearing at a beat. Some are merely one word or line said over and over. . Some one needs to nuke this beast and soon. . Add into that all these shitty rap dance songs like Dougie, John Wall, Juju on the beat, Silento thing, Wheelchair stuntin, Bernie, Stanky Legg and all the Viral rap and you have just puddles and puddles of poo piling up. I got plenty good loving for ya baby

And then we got mumble rap, where you can't understand what they are saying. . Look I remember in the old days, rap was fun and conscious. I miss the MC's who could spout rhymes of empowerment and frustration and dudes who could rhyme anything together, cats who worked on their rhymes and flow to make it sound dope, DJ's that could spin scratch and cut the beat while MC's toasted each other. . I miss dudes like Nas, KRS One, Boogie down Productions, Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash, Ice T, Cool J, Slick Rick, NWA Too $hort and a bit later dudes like Cube, Pac and Biggie (Okay they were gangsta, but they dropped science and the brothers could rhyme, all their shit had flow, something the rappers of today don't). Also these guys rapped on meaningful stuff, now they all just talk shit about drugs, diamonds, hos, labels, cars, money and other stupid shit. . Of course I loved all the commercial shit back in the day like MC Hammer, Fresh prince, Young MC, Rebel MC, OMC, Upper Hutt Posse (NZ Rap groups), Father MC, Queen Latifah, Da Brat, Missy E and even Busta Rhymes. Anyone who could rap and had flow, I would listen too, even if the stories were shit (2 live crew and Bodycount still bust me up). . The beginning of shitty rap began with guys like Jay Z (Sorry guys he ain't that goos - okay Masterplan was a good joint and his first few albums were decent) and Puffy or whatever he calls his ass. Then all the shitty rappers like Chingy, Jah Rule and aaarggg!! I got plenty good loving for ya baby

Most new popular music sucks whether it's hip hop, pop or country. It just doesn't do much for me. These people can't sing to save their lives and the lyrics are so immature.

I dig J. Cole & Lamar but honestly I'm tired of hear the N" word ever 30 damn seconds. I'm bored with the shit. FOOLS multiply when WISE Men & Women are silent.

You ain't lying...I started phasing out rap in the late 90s.
I listened to 30 seconds of Cardi B and I'm like, WTF? Nicki Minaj is Mozart compared to this fucking shit!
