Gerry Rafferty

Who here also likes Gerry Rafferty? My favorite album of his is Sleepwalking. Not one bad song on it. I really relate to The Right Moment. Standing At The Gate is a great opener too.

anyone want to discuss him?

Yes, I liked his music but not enough to discuss him. He did some good songs with Stealers Wheel and City to City is, in my mind, legendary.

music I'm afraid of Americans. I'm afraid of the world. music

"Baker Street" is one of those amazing 70s songs that takes me right back to my youth....that wonderful summer of '78 smile I used to listen to an AM station that played that song all the time.Such a wonderful era for music.Damn,I miss those days!

Sure, I'l talk. I like this one, too. His song structures can sound hymnal and that makes them kind of attractive to my ear! I've checked out his bio-documentary on Youtube.

"Right Down The Line" by Gerry Rafferty (1978)

This reminds me of my childhood. Windows rolled down, this playing on the radio! Long live the 70's, when life was simply perfect!----a fan's Youtube comment

Alcohol is s drug with a deathly-strong allure for some. The circumstance of his health decline & death should be a beacon example to those more modestly inclined to drink to curb their excesses. Just trying to find a silver lining to that sad cloud.
