Hendrix actually did jam with Roland Kirk. Sadly it was never recorded but it was a jam that didn't go too far..Kirk actually respected Hendrix....Same thing happened with Tony Williams (Miles Davis drummer)...Jimi was also friends with Coltrane...Guess Q didn't know that.

As I said in another thread.....I will always admire and respect Quincy for his amazing talent,career and accomplishments,but I think he's gone crazy in his old age his recent interviews are filled with questionable comments and opinions.It almost seems as if he's purposely trying to shock everyone,one last time....trying to ruffle some feathers before his final day.

Why? I think Q has reached an age, he doesn't give a fuck about being diplomatic. Disagree, fine but the last time I checked the Mr. Jones wrote a lot of music and assisted a lot of bands, groups, and singers. He was kinda there... Yes, Q has proven he has a bit of ego. I'm looking forward to more off the cuff remarks; what he really thought instead of the neutral remarks he usually maintained.


As far as M.J. borrowing others people music or riffs... the late MJ standing in a long line.. Some music rags back of the day mentioned some of the borrowing. Quincy Jones has been accused of borrowing t00. Maybe Mr. Jones will address that as well... holding my breath.

Some people can't take the truth or have their assumptions deconstructed. In terms of Quincy take... he thought the Beatles sucked as musicians. Paul and John's song writing is up there with the Gershwin brothers.
