Looks like any future recordings will be put on hold because Posh refuses to contribute any vocal talent.

As to their solo careers it's a mystery.

According to their Spice Girls album credits they are credited as writers on most if not all their songs. Surely they can parlay that talent to some kind of songwriting success.

Scary was the only on could sing, the others just screeched or yelled (Okay - Ginger was okay, but Mel B had the voice). Otherwise I only like a few spice girl songs - they would have been better with material other than teeny bopper shit.

To me they'll always be the epitome of manufactured pop but Sporty was going solo at a festival I attended in the late nineties. I decided to give her a chance as the papers said she could sing. She was a disaster, terrible, even after numerous drinks. There were toilet rolls thrown at her and other unmentionables and boos rang aloud. I did feel a tiny (very tiny) bit sorry for her. Well, that sucks. I didn't care much about her (their) music (although I did have their albums at one point n the movie on bootleg ). They were hot chicks is all .

they havent aged well... they look like a crew of middle aged clerical office temps, going to a staff meeting...not that there's anything wrong with that....but they dont look ready for the spotlight anymore...

Has anyone seen Geri's new Saturday night show on BBC1? It's called All Together Now and it's terrible. Geri is one of 100 judges and if they like the singer that is performing in front of them they get out of their seats and clap along. Cringeworthy! Why does Geri think she is fit 2 do this? - she is a bad singer.

With good material they sing and sound well. The only song of their's I ever really loved and considered a proper adult R & B style ballad was "2 Become 1" - a beautiful song - if they do an album like that - then they are truly back.

Then again I do like some cheesy English girl group stuff - take Make me whole again by Atomic Kitten - complete garbage but yet I really like it for some reason, it has the tackiness factor that the Spices have in buckets. You know you are different when you see yourself agreeing with 9 year old girls and liking their songs.

And i like alot of various girl groups from the UK that came after them like Girls Aloud and The Saturdays but never really got into the Spice Girls though seemed like KISS to me and I was never a big KISS fan obviously not musically similar but the craziness was similar a movie, dolls, and the personas they had. So though other girl groups were often compared to them or people said the Spice Girls opened the door i never saw anything similar between The Spice Girls and Girls aloud or The Pussycat dolls etc...
