. Sting looks pretty good for a 66 year-old Man. Trivial was explaining to me that Sting was there "Englishman in NY", because it was the first Grammys in NYC in 15-years, so I guess that's why they had him perform. I get that.......but, not the Shaggy part, LOL . I am pissed that U2 performed and there was no mention of Dolores O'Riordan who just passed away on January 15th. I don't think she was mentioned the entire evening.......really sad.

These 24% of the viewers must just be getting older/out of touch. If the theories about how younger artists appeal to a broader or more lucrative audience are true, the audience should be built in and increase each year. The record companies and artists like to demonstrate how they have so much money to burn, it's interesting that their general audience has petered out almost a full quarter. The Grammys and the allegedly huge buying public need to somehow invest in music education and integrate that kind of investment into their product, become more inclusive and competitive. There was a bit on the news about companies and artists buying massive amounts of bogus likes on social media and literally millions of plays on Soundcloud. These things are indicators for getting sponsorships and deals if it was just a dream, call me a dreamer 2

Not surprised to hear that, we've joked about the gammies being irrelevant for a long time ("Wow! An awards statue....aww, it's a grammy"), but it might be a deeper thing with people generally being over the entertainment industry self-fellating itself in general. They tried to spice it up with some #metoo crap but that's so 2017 now and they can't fake beefs between people all the time since they're running out of lip-synching mannequins that are recognisable, the turnover with manufactured nigh-cons is just yikes nowadays. I'm afraid of Americans. I'm afraid of the world.

. This is why I don't like watching award shows anymore. They are satanic rituals. I don't remember award shows being like this when I was a kid (symbolism), but maybe I just didn't see it? . This guy is good too and funny as hell, LOL I laughed my arse off when he started talking about JayZ's hair, LOL . https://www.youtube.com/w...wipQnzdF14

. I agree. I also think it may have something to do with our internet culture. Young people don't have the attention span -- if something does not interest them within 3-seconds, they aren't going to watch it, LOL . Not trying to offend anyone, but it's true, even with older folks (myself included)! . I think we live in a fast-paced world and we have to filter-out the unimportant stuff.

It has nothing to do with the "there is better music" out there you just have to search, that is a given, we can apply that thinking and reasoning to many times, the problem is the narrow focus of the industry because of its idea of thinking it knows. Problem is also SOCIAL MEDIA, everyone (pretty much) on that stage at that show is 24/7 in everyones face, Why do I need to see Cardi B when she is all over twitter and facebook and instagram and snap chat etc....Remember how LABELS complained about PRINCE saturating the market, WELL todays artists are over saturating the market NOT with music but with their "brand" their gimmicks, hype, scandals etc....And even the "Political" statements made, people are tired of hearing it, regardless if they are on your side and despise Trump and things he has done, I want to see a TV show with awards and music, not hear over and over about where you stand. I mean if one artist is making a statement like say u2 back in the day, but now every artist thinks because they have a single out they also have a platform. I am already hearing that networks might force or at least restrict artists, actors, actresses etc...to saying anything outside of what the show is for because people have political exhaustion at this point. . Does this have to do with their sponsorships being more lucrative (to them) than their music? "DJ Khaled" for example is basically bankrolled by Snapchat. if it was just a dream, call me a dreamer 2

Totally he is someone that is depending on LIKES and clicks and views, I could not tell you one thing that he has done "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

Given that Stevie Wonder won AOTY 3 times in the 70s (with many songs of social commentary included), I don't hink you can chalk it up simply to "racism". And as someone who was around in the 1970s, I don't think there was LESS racism then as opposed to now...

Someone can be nasty to their own and still have feelings of prejudice for another group of people. I see it as less of a racial issue and more as an antipathy towards Hip/Hop and Rap music #SOCIETYDEFINESU
