What's funny about this post is Kendrick sold more pure ablums and was streamed more than Mr. Pop music Bruno's album. Did we forget Bruno's album was outsold by Metallica in its first week. Me ta llica in 2017. What a joke. Kenny album was well recieved by critics hands down and had culture impact. Bruno's album was typical pop crap with a non innovative twist. 24k has been done by many artist but universally ignored by the Grammys, what a coincidence.
Yeah! Listen to all these other old school sounding pop songs filling up the airwaves! Oh wait.

To be honest, as a hardcore Bruno fan, I'm gonna be so mad if his next release is rooted in old-school funk or R&B. He really should trick himself into exploring more sounds and writing more profound material. That's the only one he's going to be taken seriously by critics. And as much as I hate 2 take their opinion into consideration when it comes to appreciating art in general, it's a qualified one, and matters in the long run.

I agree. Right now he's treading a fine line between artist and novelty act. What he does on his next album will place him on either side.

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this Childish Bambino Terrified - that song and performance was amazing. Vocals, song, vibe. Love it! In case anyone missed it. Turn up the volume. bow

Kinda feels Prince inspired a bit. That scream.

You didn't read enough - I mentioned it. I hated it. It was almost comical.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I totally agree! I love Bruno. He’s a phenomenal live entertainer. His next album needs to have some more depth to it. It can’t all be about love and partying. I would like to see him grow lyrically and also address some deeper issues, eg religion/spirituality, racism, introspection, the environment, or som thing to that effect. Lyrically, there needs to be more meat. Purple Rain still sells to this day because there is a lot of depth to the record. There is unrequited love (TBO), the afterlife (LGC), God/Jesus (IWD4U), romance (TMWU), and a good party song (BIAS).

Indeed, his next album must have lyrically more depth, much more.
