Probably not; Bowie never sued over bootlegs and I have tons of Bowie bootlegs I downloaded off the internet while he was alive. The same with Springsteen; in fact, you can post links to Springsteen bootlegs on his fan sites. But, the Prince estate should do what Springsteen did-- take the recorded concerts and make them available for an affordable download shortly after the live date in great sound quality. If the Prince estate would do that, it would put the bootleggers out of business. I'm assuming that you are referring to the market being flooded with Prince bootlegs for sale...

Agreed. Springsteen's site uses nugs.net as a storefront. They offer lossless and MP3, as well as CD. Discounts for full tour sets. It would be amazing for the Estate to use them and it'd make a lot of fans happy. That way, they can leave the outtakes/deluxe editions separate and have that live site as income. They do live video webcast as well for purchase and also subscriptions, which would be AMAZING for a new NPG Music Club. Hopefully the Estate is reading this.
