98% of all remakes are worse

I don't like it, and I was not aware it was a remake at the time. It was one of those songs that I would turn the station when it came on, unless my mom was listening to her stereo. I wasn't really into Luther's music anyway. The first song I really liked by him and listened to on purpose was Stop To Love. I did like some of the songs that he had done with other acts, but I did not know it was him until long after they were old. Like Hot Butterfly & Glow Of Love. I didn't find out about the Marvin & Tammi version until I saw it on Youtube and later bought a Tammi CD set. I do like theirs. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Well, the vast majority of covers will be worse than the originals, ne? - Michael Bolton "(Sittin' on) the Dock of the Bay" - Michael Bolton "When a Man Loves a Woman" (Basically anything by Michael Bolton) - Prince "One of Us" - Kim Wilde "You Keep Me Hangin' On" - Frankie Goes to Hollywood "Roadhouse Blues"

The original is way better! Covering Marvin (with or without Tammi) is rarely advisable, no matter how good your voice is. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Yes it was the one misstep for me on their sensational debut album. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint
