The Harvey Weinstein Effect and Hip Hop

As you all know Hollywood producers, actors, tv hosts, etc are all under fire for being inappropriate. Hip Hop has been under fire for many years for sexist lyrics and degrading women. I think it's only a matter of time before we see hip hop and rappers called out for lewd conduct with women. Once they get through with hollywood, hip hop culture, i'm sure will be next. I wonder if all of this willmake them re-think their lyrical content.

Did Tipper Gore & the PMRC make Prince rethink his lyrics? lol

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

There may not be much of an effect there because rap music is presumed to be misogynistic and guilty of mistreatment of women. Plus, some of the biggest rappers in the game have been prosecuted for sexual assault over the last 2 decades or so.

All the R Kelly allegations were settled out of the court, by the way when you settle it's an admission there was some guilt, so it's funny how R Kelly and treatment of women gets swept away I knew that all of this was going to be a very pick and choose who we go after type thing.
