Summer: The Donna Summer Musical coming to Broadway Broadway audiences are in for some “Hot Stuff” when the new bio-show Summer: The Donna Summer Musical sets up house at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in 2018. Featuring a book by Colman Domingo, Robert Cary and Des McAnuff, choreography by Sergio Trujillo and direction by McAnuff, the production will start previews on March 28 with an opening slated for April 23. This, I guess, is the next best thing to the play she had talked about doing starring herself. [Edited 12/23/17 16:13pm]

I haven't seen it yet,but the idea of a Donna Summer musical is bittersweet to me.During the 90s and into the 2000s,she was trying to get her own musical, titled Ordinary Girl, off the ground. It never happened The new musical seems promising, but it's just sad that she'a not around to see it.
