Donna Summer, better voice, better beat and so much more gravitas. Drifters okay, but justs sounds dated and the vocals are not as strong. . You can't forget Donna Summer was a legend and she could sing circles around anyone. Calling her disco is insulting, she was just a great singer period, a true diva and a powerful voice, like a female TTD/Sananda Maitreya in sheer vocal power. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I like Donna’s version better. The production/arrangement is superb. She even added new lyrics to flesh out the song and her vocals are really soulful.

Oh hell no. Donna Summer was a bad pop disco diva but I side with Laura Richardson on this one. Donna's version of this song is hella corny. My goodness it makes Laura Branigan sound more appealing. I'll ride with the Drifters all day on this one. Ben E. King's lead vocals and that classic Doo Wop sound can't be beat. Don't laugh at my funk

The Drifters version was my grandmother's favorite song...i spent many days at her apartment listening to her play "There Goes My Baby..."Saturday Night At The Movies"..."Up On The Roof"..."This Magic Moment"..."On Broadway"..."This Magic Moment"...my grandmother and mother both played the shit out of that The Drifters Golden Hits lp...i hated it as a little boy but now theres so much nostalgia and sentimental feelings attached to that record since they have both passed

I like Donna Summer. Just not feeling that cover at all. Looking at the video it appears it's from a soundtrack. No further comment on Laura Branigan. Don't laugh at my funk

speaking of Laura Branigan...I have always felt that her 1984 hit “Self Control” would have been perfect for Donna parts of that song actually sound like Donna, imo
