Best Most Cost-Effective Music Streaming Service? Up until a few weeks ago I had no streaming services and didn't want one.
However, getting a free month of Amazon Prime and using their music service has whetted my appetite to pay for a service.
What's the best one? I have all, but the most obscure Prince CDs, so I'm not really concerned how much Prince is on there.

They are all 10.00. Except Spotify. That's free and you can upload your own library to it free but you have to pay for non-ads I think. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Amazon Prime Music is the bee's knees. Tons of great jazz records, a boatload of Sly Stone, got Pete Rock Instrumentals, my Prime list goes on and on. I like that you can "download" them for un-wifi-interrupted tunes (I use the subway a lot and it comes in handy). I also love the many many compilations that Prime provides, its the closest to record crate digging on legal digital downloads. if it was just a dream, call me a dreamer 2

Good to know. Since I'm new to this, is it possible to stream an album without the pauses in-between the songs? It ruins the flow on a lot of albums for me. Is this possible?

@paisleypark4 tbh it's like having a really great backup for if my MP3s of good stuff aren't available. The selection is definitely similar to going into a strange/obscure record store or really hooked up library as there are some amazing gems hidden in the mess of it all. Standards like D'Angelo, Lauryn Hill, Mary Blige, Stevie Wonder have most of their albums on the service. They have the ATCQ discography remaster a which kinda blew my mind sound wise having only meager CD rips previously. They have many of the Essential series of compilations I love the Duke Ellington collection amongst others. They also have newer stuff like Kaytranada, Flume or The Internet/Matt Martians (I don't think they have Syd solo album). It's a great feature for Prime which is a decent value. Plus I sorta hope/think somehow pennies via bureaucracies get to the artists or labels somehow which is somethin. . Re: breaks on album flow I didn't notice anything on the Tribe albums which cut quick on certain tracks or have memorable song segues but I wasn't paying that much mind to it. if it was just a dream, call me a dreamer 2

Most Cost-Effective would be uploading all your MP3s to Google's service for free or Amazon's for $25 a year.

Does Amazon Prime have any Sly that wasn't on the Higher box set that came out a few years ago (other than officially released albums)?

I am a moderate level Sly fan, I have 176 songs on my Prime player for Sly & The Fam from albums including Backtracks, Dance To The Music, Essential Sly & The Family Stone (had cd), Fresh (had cd), the Higher set, Stand (had cd), There's a Riot Goin on (had cd). Many of the 176 are doubles I gotta trim out. It's nice as most of my CDs are in another state currently (but I paid for them! Love ya Sly I'm sure he could relate) so I get to dig in via the wifi waves They have A LOT more stuff those are the ones I chose. The Elvis Costello and David Bowie selections are pretty extensive too. A lot of Gladys Knight stuff I hadn't heard from earlier on was a nice surprise too. Another nice feature of the included selections are including paid song/album purchases from Amazon which makes things more interesting. I'm pretty sure it adds mp3s that are on devices too as an option. [Edited 11/15/17 16:28pm] if it was just a dream, call me a dreamer 2
