Beals would not be proud.
It's what "artists" do when they run out of ideas. J-lo yet or rather CANNOT place a mark or influence pop culture like Madonna, or Prince even, so she has only eye candy videos and over produced music and imagery to grasp on to. Taking on this is just jumping onto this faux-early 80's thing and the current Hip Hop communities pine for the fun happy early Hip Hop/Rap era. All the eye candy is enhanced these days with Shake, Final Cut, all that super-duper software and film effects in post. Still doesn't enhance the fact that J-Lo is not talented. And "hating"? Right, people always claim that to counter actual critisism and truth. Please. I'll take Flashdance, it was more organic and a work of film art. I love that film.

I love that movie, hate that the concept gets pimped for another forgettable song though...
Flashdance Goodfellas Coming to America others I can't think of right now You should only be able to rip off a movie if your song is really great & worthy enough to rob that image IMO... . [This message was edited Wed Apr 9 2:25:12 PDT 2003 by CalhounSq]

This is the woman who throws up the N word but then distances herself from MOBO Awards (refusing a trophy) as not to be linked with any music of black origin. Kick her out the house I say...

I would like to see the video, will soon...
It's funny, and somehow kind of sad that all men seem to want to do is just look at her body, and not see her for anything else, which could be her fault also. But you don't hear those kind of comments about other 'female' artists, which shows how sexist men could be at times, and how women just feed into it too also, so if it's all about the hoopla about her as* and sexism, they might as well put her down in the Guiness book of world records, and I'm being sarcstic. Some men may say, that there's nothing else to admire of her, or is that her physical appearance is so overpowering to them, that it makes them lose self-control. I guess men just feed into sexist society, when there's nothing else for them to do, dag, go look at your girlfriend or wives. That's why the cycle will never end, especially when the ones who are in 'control' are the ones who promote it. Oh boy, anyway, her videos are usually nice though, like "If you had my love', 'Waiting for tonight', and "All I have'...top producers and directors, as she supposedely requested, could mean a nice video for some 'artists'... I saw saw the video on Launch, and she kind of reminds me of Madonna in a way, the song is kind of nice, and the dancing goes nice with it...I guess taking out her wedgy at the end of a video is going to be her new trademark... [This message was edited Wed Apr 9 16:04:25 PDT 2003 by Starmist7]

That video is REALLY good. Hot! Warning!! To all the men that are married...be careful what you say about the video around your wife. When she started dancing in that red outfit...I yelled "DAMN!". Then I soon felt a burning sensation on the back of my head..I turned around and saw my wife shooting laser beams out of her eyes! Really, no joke.
But all is well...we are going to see "How to lose a guy in 10 days" at the movies this weekend. Love God and I shall 4ever Love u

I thought it was hot! Okay, so maybe it's right up there with sampling other people's music, but I'm not gonna hate. In the music industry it's hard to reinvent the wheel. No matter how original we think an artist or song is, there will always be room for compassion.
Anyway, I like when someone can take something old and make it knew again. It gets me all nostalgic and stuff.

Anyway, I like when someone can take something old and make it knew again. It gets me all nostalgic and stuff. Isn't it funny after hearing the song "I'm glad" you can't seem to remember a thing or two about it, but the hot video??? The dance steps are hot, from the movie, which is a good marketing strategy to make a forgettable song somewhat 'memorable' in that way, because there is definitely a big contrast between the song and video, which is what will make it fly up to the top of the charts no matter what, so guess that's what it's about... oh...and about J.Lo capitalizing on only what they so-called know her by… [This message was edited Fri Apr 11 20:56:15 PDT 2003 by Starmist7]
