I've had Haters and Joyride since, they dropped in Japan first. They, should have put out Joyride. Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

The magic is gone imho. I don't think I'll listen to this album.

Pretty generic by any standard. This is a letdown.

Cool news but a very uninspiring first single... [Edited 5/6/17 9:31am] The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

I'm all for old school artists coming back with new music, but this project seems doomed. The few songs I heard just don't sound very good

1998 called. They want the album title back. Katie Kinisky: "So What Are The Latest Dances, Nell?"

Would it have mattered if she were still alive and with the group? They wouldn't have fared any better in this climate. Fanmail wasn't all that except for a few tracks. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

Maybe we should go back to 98 when the music was better. It is something that Bruno Mars can go back in the day but if black artist go back in the day they are losers.
We cannot even do our on style of music without some crap and negativity.
Now go listen to some Adele.

that true but still sadto see an incomplete group like that. Imagine the jacksons or the beatles doing a group project. just no hang it up the group thing is done

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

And I feel the same way about these things. Its like people trying to rekindle dead flames or reheat cold french fries its not the same the group is no longer the same when a member dies.

Mike was alive when 2300 Jackson Street came out, but both he and Marlon had quit the group after the Victory Tour. Jermaine quit the group when they left Motown. Group members leave all the time, either quitting or getting fired. The Temptations had around 20 members during their existence. Van Halen had 3 different lead singers. So did Genesis. Van Halen also had 2 different bassists. Bon Jovi has lost 2 members, Mötley Crüe did that album with John Corabi instead of Vince Neil, and so on. With some groups, if it was only the original members, they wouldn't be as remembered today. The most famous lineup of Fleetwood Mac wasn't the original one with Peter Green as the singer, and they've had lots of members too. The original Pink Floyd wasn't really big either. Journey had 3 albums before Steve Perry joined and even then they weren't a hit right away. Kool & The Gang didn't become really popular until J.T. Taylor joined, they were mostly an instrumental band before. Pre-Philip Bailey, Earth Wind & Fire made 3 albums with a different lineup that weren't successful. Would New Edition have had the same career if they hadn't fired Bobby Brown and hired Johnny Gill? Don't Be Cruel & BBD probably wouldn't have existed and Johnny might just be remembered as having one hit song with Stacy Lattisaw. Also would the Rolling Stones be big today if they broke up after Brian Jones died? You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

my rule of thumb is the defintive group is (the group with the members that had artistic and commecial success where they made their name.) so when a member of that group dies. They are no longer tha same group. I dont consider members who were there first but left before the rise a member of the defintive group. earth wind and fire before philip biley was not the defintive earth wind and fire. And for bands with tons of members if someone dies who didnt make a big up impact on the group. It still loses something for me but that group can still continue until the main faces pass away.

I would buy it strictly out of loyalty. They were so great back in the day. Not their fault LE became an angel. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

What about Van Halen? They had success with both David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar, but the album with the 3rd singer (Gary Cherone) didn't do well though. With Genesis they were more successful with Phil Collins as the singer, but some prog rock fans put down this 3 member version and only like the Peter Gabriel era, say they sold out or Phil ruined the group. They go to see the tribute band The Musical Box which recreates this era. Some consider the 1970s 5 member lineup the "classic lineup" although it was nowhere near as commercially popular as the 1980s era. Some Invisible Touch era fans don't know Peter was in the band or they consider that music weird. The 5 member version was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame, but original Genesis member Anthony Phillips wasn't included. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Whatever happened to that O'So Crispy chick who was supposed to replace Left Eye? Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

Classic van halen with david lee roth. And eddie van halen is probaly a bigger face of that band than david. Its like journey without steve perry. but none of these people died. Its different when someone dies and they played a big part of the group.

. absolutely. they all had their parts in this group, but Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez was the most charismatic. she was the reason I casually followed TLC - & that was BEFORE she burned down Andre Rison's mansion! such a tragedy she died so young, as she did. . several years ago - didn't Chilli & T-Boz audition for a new member?? wasn't that some sort of "reality show"??? if my recollection is true.. looks like that new 3rd member didn't stick. noble idea from Chilli & T-Boz but no one could replace Left Eye. . I wish them well & give them props for continuing to continue on.. I'll see you tonight..

The prize for that reality show talent search was to be on ONE song with the group. When she won, they created that song and released it on iTunes. time flies.
