Wrong! no no no! I would have happy if that kind of justice was served. Leaving anything to Tyka Nelson, THE only living member of the immediate family of John L. & Mattie Nelson, would have been the right thing to happen. But Minnesota state lawmakers and judges disagree, hence why AND how all of the half-siblings ended up as heirs along with Tyka.

At the end of the day, we all need to accept the fact that Prince's biggest career f*** up was that he NEVER had a will. Period. Point bland. End of a sad story.

But again i really don't see what the concern is with WHO gets anyones money. Who really cares, the FACT is that because he has property that property still has to be paid for which means most of his money is going on that stuff, that is just the law regardless of who he might have been thinking of leaving things too. And also do we even know his relationship with TYKA all these years, yes they are blood but lets be real we all have blood relations we never see or care to see. The fact is that if ONE would have been named in charge or getting all the money then we'd be in court now. If Prince would have left music to TYKA that say he recorded with Shelia, then I can bet down the line Shelia would be sueing for a cut. Everytime someone has a WILL it is challenged, in this case, what is there to challenge? Can't challenge what ain't there, I honestly feel that Prince really did not give a crap about this stuff, I know that sounds harsh, but I really do not think he cared too much about finances other than ownership of his masters which he got control of and now all that stuff is decided and it's being handled. Bad business man most musicians are, examples The Beatles, Billy Joel robbed twice by managers was broke as of 1993, Elton John in the first 10 years of his career, Queen up till the 6th album they had sold a few million and sold out tours and had no money now they are the wealthiest band ever, Toni Braxton, TLC, etc....they all suck at it. In the end just give me the music cause I know I aint getting their cash so whats the big deal.

Thank you. hammer

i will never understand why fans get so caught up in these artists estate issues. they are dead, they cant take any money with them so somebody is gonna get it, and if its not me why should i give a shit? funerals,estates...that stuff is for families to fight over, its really not the business of fans.

I don't get it either why people like to count and worry about someone else's money and belongings.

People still think that having a will guarantees anything? lol

Newsflash.....wills get contested ALL the time and an estate can still be tied up in court for years. The false idea that a will always solves everyhing needs to stop because it is NOT true.

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Maybe because fans actually care about their favorite artist and care about how their legacy is preserved.

What is wrong with that?

I hate when people say, why do you care what happens to such to such artist? Why do you care so much about such and such artist? Um.... because we are FANS that is why and no one has a right to say how someone should feel about another artist or issue related to them (not saying you are but just saying some people do) Its only NATURAL fans would be concern with how the legacy of their deceased favorite artist is preserved. Me personally, I care and especially if the artist is being taken advantage of or artist family. Even if there is nothing we as fans can do about it, there is nothing wrong with talking and expressing our feelings on the manner.

But having a WILL does not mean you are covered or means that is the best decision. Honestly I feel in Prince's case, with only his sister and that is really it, and lets face it, Prince was not really a "family" guy, and with no wife kids etc...it means nothing. His Music was taken care of, a lot of PRINCE's fans are being selfish, and the day after he died all they cared about was how long till we get the Vault. WILLS often cause more issues especially if outside people are named in it. Technically if PRINCE left say half to Shelia and Half to Morris Day, TYKA could drag that shit through the courts and make it a circus. Example would be Michael Hutchence of INXS who died in 1997, had a will, left his money to his daughter who at the time was 2. His 30million dollar estate was eaten up on court costs because his sister and step mother fought his WISHES. And the music he had that had not been released at least 2 albums worth of solo material has never been released and also no INXS material that was unreleased has surfaced 20 years later because of Legal reasons, the band finally has gotten control of that stuff and will be issuing something soon. So its not so much of concern for me it's this "taking shots" at PRINCE because he had no will or set direction, maybe he felt this shit was going to happen, maybe he felt rather than divide things up amongst close friends, he would just leave it and let whomever was left "family" figure out money, and the music will find it's way out there.

That's what get me too the "taking shots" at PRINCE because he had no will. Either will it was going to be rough because the family is not on same page and when it comes to money some people go crazy for it.
