JamiroFan2000

Hello there!

Looks like some of my recently reported Jamiroquai news made it the Prince.org forum, I am a longtime Jamiroquai fan, 24 years of following the band, I also moderate the r/Jamiroquai subreddit on Reddit. (LINK: https://www.reddit.com/r/jamiroquai)

Thought I would add some more tidbits since the holidays 206/17 to this thread to keep all fans updated:

- According to an instagram photo (PICTURE: https://i.redd.it/l00hnp57tr6y.png) taken on JK's birthday, Dec. 30th 2016, by Roy March's wife (Roy The Roach; an old friend of JK from the 90s), they listened to the FINALIZED MASTERED 8th Jamiroquai album and it's TWO..counting TWO music videos preceding it. No release date was noted BUT she hinted that JK himself could be making a debut on social media soon with his own Instagram account. But Jamiroquai Bassist Paul Turner did said via Social Media that an 8th Jamiroquai album announcement by their new record is IMMINIENT!

- As for those +13 new songs I recently discovered on the ASCAP ACE Repertory site, two of them have been consensually dropped for consideration by I and my fellow Jamiroquai fans for being on the upcoming 8th Jamiroquai album tracklist. One fellow fan had a friend who visited JK/band at his studio during the 'Rock Dust Light Star' sessions and remembered seeing the provisional song "Nights Out In The Jungle" listed as a leftover song. And the other provisional, "Gettin' Down", turns out to have been a 'melodic/lyrical' fragment composition that would end up being used at the tailend of the RDLS song "She's A Fast Persuader". As for the rest of the remaining songs, mostly written by JK/Matt Johnson, are still yet to be confirmed as either new Jamiroquai/solo material. Here's the original infographic I made as a reference. (PICTURE: https://i.redd.it/ki6bifpnyv1y.png)

- As for the first music video, which was in production in England during early-mid December 2016, the first picture from this production was tweeted out by a Media Consultant named Rob Currie, ironically the tweet of the picture would later on be deleted along with his Twitter account. The picture would show off a NEW JK hat, a modified A Funk Odyssey Era JK Blade Hat whose blades have been retrofitted with NEW BLUE LED lighting and according to Roy March's wife, is 'robotic'. Here's the screen capture of the tweet picture in question: (PICTURE: http://imgur.com/ZQmbvKa) & here's a picture from Jamiroquai Bassist Paul Turner's Facebook ironically showing off that new JK Hat (PICTURE: http://imgur.com/LDP9Z2k)

- And lastly, the OFFICIAL Jamiroquai website (LINK: https://www.jamiroquai.com), which hadn't seen a 'remodel' since their 2010 album effort "Rock Dust Light Star", just had a new 'holding screen' pop up at the beginning of December 2016 with a solid white Buffaloman logo and the simple message 'We're Making Some Changes'. It hasn't changed since the holidays but they did launch a new e-mail 'Mailing list' for further news correspondence on the holding screen, so be sure to click on "Stay In The Loop" to sign up with it!

That's pretty much the main news as it stands for right now, be sure to stop on by the JAMIROQUAI Subreddit (Link Above) to stay updated on the latest Jamiroquai news and I also have a YouTube Channel, where I have been recording vlogs about all the latest Jamiroquai news/discussions about the past, present and future of the band here (LINK: https://www.youtube.com/c...iQq7eUetQ) , so please feel free to check out all those videos too!

I will try to stop on by here more often when I can, thank you everyone for all your support of Jamiroquai, and pass on more info when I know it! Cheers!

Sincerely,

JamiroFan2000

Your very very welcome, I know, it's ALOT of news to digest, but I am VERY hopeful the 8th Jami album will be back to an equalized 50/50 mixture of Jami's OLD and NEW Sound! wink

Yup...according to Roy Marsh's wife on Instagram...

OHHH and I nearly forgot to mention, Jamiroquai keyboardist Matt Johnson did post a small snippet video of him playing a mysterious vinyl acetate record, which would be figured out by a fellow fan of being recently 'mastered' in the UK, when asked if this was new Jamiroquai music, he simply commented with, "If I played the whole thing, I would have to kill you". Here's a link to that Instagram video:

Two videos already? I guess that means they plan to release at least two songs. That probably means they're excited about what they've produced.

I'm really looking forward to this album!

Jamiroquai was once a BADASS BAND!

i suggest you check out -

emergency on planet earth,

***return of the space cowboy***

and vitual insanity.

after that two key members left the band..

Bassist Staurt Zender and Keyboardist/Co-Writer Toby Smith..

when people talk about the 'CLASSIC' Jamiroquai sound'

the (3) records listed above best exemplify that vibe/sound/groove. cool

I Really Suggest You Check out the Videos from that era also!

BTW, since we're showing off videos, here are some to surely knock your socks off. A couple years ago, former Jamiroquai drummer, Nick Van Gelder, aired some highlights of his old Jamiroquai demotapes on his YouTube Channel. Here are a couple of those UNRELEASED Jamiroquai songs:

FRIENDS (UNRELEASED DEMO):

FUNKY SEVEN (INSTRUMENTAL):

MUSIC OF THE MIND (REHEARSAL DEMO):

Also found a couple years ago on YouTube, here is Jamiroquai's FIRST gig recorded ever, at the Acid Jazz Cafe in 1992, in it's entirety:

JAMIROQUAI FIRST GIG 1992:

Enjoy these gems! Cheers!

Before their last album,Rock Dust Light Star, was released, they put out two singles: the ballad "Blue Skies" and the uptempo "White Knuckle Ride".Maybe they're gonna follow that strategy again?
