That's kinda fair. But we still have enough of a body of work to choose in the 10's.

It's not like this won't come up again before 2021 smile . . .

Mano Negra had a hit with King Kong 5 in the late 80s... I sort of forgot about them... When I was in Mexico in 2000, I heard Clandestino for the first time. It had songs about immigrants, about Tijuana (tequila, sexo, marijuana), it had Subcomandante Marcos' speeches on it... I was learning about the Zapatistas and what they were all about. This album perfectly captured what I was thinking about at the time. Also, the 90s were the time of Britpop and shit hop and r&b, in other words, nothing that moved me. Manu Chao was so different! I felt (and still somewhat do) that the whole pop/rock/r&b world is just going around in circles and if you want to hear something new, it's going to have to come from somewhere else. So I wanted to include a world star that the English language pop world hardly knows about! I hope that answers your question, 214.

It's an easy mistake to make. Besides, I can't be mad at someone who listed The Awesome Power Of A Fully Operational Mothership as their pick for the 90's. That is a great album

Yeah! Of course it is difficult choosing one album per decade, but go ahead! Do your worst, compadre! Remember, there's no "right" or "wrong"...
