I think the same, i don't like that much this song, i prefer Joanne, it seems more heartfelt. It was not a great show, it was good that's about it. For me the best SB is Madonna's one and then Prince and Paul in the fourth spot Michael Jackson.

It grew on me and I personally like it. It's just as good as hello from Adele and that was a big hit.

I find all that "ga ga ra ra ra" of her early hits irritating. Good on one song, but it's on all her early shit (or so it seemed?). Even on her second album on "Judas", she does it abit. Glad it seems to be gone now. That show brought it all back though and not in a good way.
I tend to hate medley's anyway, but too many songs and too much early material, which was played to death at the time, kinda dampened an excellent and vigorous performance.

Crazy to think how long it's been since GaGa really dominated. Since the Super Bowl her music has once again been in the limelight in a big way. I used to really hate her around 2009-2012 because she was the most overplayed and talked about artist on radio. She literally walked out of her house and it made national news not to mention the insane hype for Born This Way (even the org had to have a sticky for it) Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

After her singing on the oscars everybody was surprised that she could sing and now when her name gets brought people say oh she's so talented she has a great voice and she plays instruments. But she was capable and doing all of that while wearing a meat dress. And if they couldn't see past the spectacle of it all and see how great she was breaking ground and making new waves they were never really paying attention. Now she's mellowed and traditional and not nearly as exciting. Its like if prince wore normal clothes and played a normal strat. All the uniqueness stripped away.

Gaga didn't start showing her chops till she got with Tony Bennett for Cheek to Cheek when she dropped the gimmicks that were overshadowing her ability. Your image shouldn't overpower your music and Gaga's gimmicks did just that. [Edited 2/9/17 6:21am]

True the tony bennet thing changed her whole career path and for the worse in terms popular music success in my opinion. I personally think gaga just came out of nowhere and was outrageous compared to those who surrounded her (contempories) and it was sensory overload for the public to get. But she had great fashion/images and hits. And maybe your to deep into prince world to see it but prince while he was regarded as legend and respected by musicans he was still looked at as some weird guy who dressed funny and pranced around to a large segment of the public. When he died you be flabbergasted how many people were amazed he played the guitar from watching the rock and roll hall of fame induction cermony. And than how he was venerated and legitimized through some white rock lense of artistic integrity the whole thing was disturbing to me.

Prince was over the top but not in the same way or to the same extent that Gaga was back in 09-13. Prince did some weird stuff but he never wasted prime rib by wearing it as a suit or vomited during a performance and tried to justify it as an artistic statement. Prince was strange but Gaga was campy with many of the things she did.
I'm not surprised that many people are just now finding out about Prince's talent now that he's dead. That's what happens; thankfully all it took for Gaga was for her to put away the tired shock value but when she dies hopefully long into the future, she'll be remembered positively as well. It happened with MJ, it happened with Whitney, it happened with George Michael, it happened with Prince, it will happen with Madonna, shoot, people will finally be open Janet Jackson fans again and talk about what a great influence she is on female artists when she passes on; it happens with every mega star that dies. I just think she normalized her self to much and a star is suppose to have a degree of seperation from the staus quo. A since otherness and otherworldlyness and shes broken down the wall so much it just not as exciting as it used to be.
