I really enjoyed it biggrin was it the best half-time show? nope that still belongs to Prince IMO. However its definately belongs in my Top 10 fav Super Bowl Half-Time Show list, and I liked her nod to MJ's Rock With You Outfit nod thumbs up!

Good for GaGa
Great performance and one of the best for sure in the past 10 years
She was however lip syncing during most of the heavy dance routines but not denying the power of her awesome voice when she was live! Awesome

However #1 will be Prince for a long long time

I was underwhelmed by her performance. It was predictable and as someone said, all of her songs sound alike. It didn't have a defining "moment".

Maybe I'm just getting grumpy as I get older, but tonight's halftime show made me realize how much I've gotten tired of female perfomers dressed in some sort of leotard or bikini and boots doing syncronized dancing with 20+ dancers behind them. Beyonce, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, and other performer's shows are all starting to look the same to me. Maybe it's just me, but I think the routine has become cliche and tired.

I agree with this. It's all been done before and it's kinda played out at this point.

I am sorry but this song is one of her weakest songs in her catalog. I did not like the song then and I still don't like it now. I wish she had performed Paparazi instead.

It was good, but not great. She seemed so stiff in the beginning, her dancing and just in general. I was glad Bey wasn't there! She's everywhere as it is. I would have liked to hear Born This Way or Edge of Glory. She could have left out Telephone altogether. My favorite part was the mic drop at the end lol. What did she catch and where the heck did she go anyway?!

It was a great show from a theatrical point of view. I, personally, don't think her songs are very good though. I swear, sometimes I think I'm the only gay man who finds her music to be average, at best. smile

I actually thought she sang "Born this way" twice. Like previously mentioned,a lot of her songs sound the same or very similar. While seeing her perform I kept thinking of Madonna but the only part of lady gaga's halftime show that I liked was when she performed "A million reasons". Beautiful song!

So funny to see the different reactions on this board to a half-time show that I haven't seen yet! lol And I've seen Lady Gaga in concert! It will be interesting to see the show so I can judge for myself... lol

It is? It has a Adele vibe to it and that's a good thing." A Millions Reasons" is far better than the pop songs she does that sound just a like.

i am fascinated with the "lip syncing " discussion .

I was always of the mind - if they are dancing around on stage and runnin around like she was ... that NOONE can sing ... along with that ... so they use back track vocals etc ....

I think it was apparent she had a few times where she did "shout outs" to the houston crowd...

but was she lip syncing ?

i tend to say yes ... for parts of it ... even the first part ... i thought was taped ... then

it made it look like she "jumped" ....

reminded me of Prince's opening with the "made up lightning" ...

Colonel Angus may be smelly. colonel angus may be a little rough . but deep down ... Colonel angus is very sweet.

Good, spectacular performance if not a bit flat. Listening to most of her songs consecutively, I too noticed that they all sound similar.

Definitely better than last year's though. This time would have been a better time for Bruno to perform again since he actually has new material that could use some attention.

She's a gifted singer and definitely has an entertainer's flair. I just don't dig her work.

Still, she put on a heckuva show. I couldn't hear most of it because the party i went to was really loud. But it looked like a spectacle on TV, and that was the goal.

Good on her.

I am not a fan of her songs, but there is no question that she is talented and puts on a hell of a show. Everyone I was with thought she was awesome last night. A friend next to me said the best ever...I was like...umm, no...Prince was the best!

She did fine. I'm not a big fan of 50 other dancers onstage, but Lady Gaga was good.

I'd rate it probably my 5th- or 6th-favorite halftime performance.

EDIT: It must have been good because today noted batshit crazy nutjob Alex Jones is saying that it was a tribute to Satan, which is who he says Lady Gaga is.

Contrary to those who quibble with her choice to sing Million Reasons, I thought it was an excellent choice. It would be a shame to only play music from her first two albums and nothing from her last two, especially since the last one is actually quite good. That would make her seem like a has-been artist, which it is too early in her career to be labeled as that. Moreover, this gave her a chance to jump start the single as well as the album. As mentioned in a previous post, the song is #1 on itunes today. Clearly a successful and shrewd choice on her part.

I felt she did make a political statement but it was settle and safe but I appreciate her making some acknowledgement and staying true to herself. Your right though, at the end of the day she is a entertainer and not a politician.

And the NFL wouldn't wanted any other way. They already heard enough bitching from some white people [that might be Suspected White Supermacists] concerning Beyonce's Formation in last year's halftime show. lol

That list has some laughable explanations and positions for some of the performances:

"...but a year after Beyoncé made a political statement with her all-female performance, Mars reverted back to the usual by filling the stage with a bunch of dudes,..."

Spare me this SJW nonsense. lol
