New Edition were considered 'Rock Stars'

http://prince.org/msg/8/435204

Remember this thread everyone? Well, in the recent New Edition movie, in at least one scene they are called Rock Stars. Just wanted to point that out.

I'm watching the BET docu-series about New Edition right now and all I can think of is that the way the record company is treating them and lying to them and cheating them and going behind each of their backs reminds me of P's fights with WB.

Man, the record industry is dirty as hell.

If P hadn't fought WB I wonder how much more badly they'd have ended up cheating him.

My friend, who shall remain nameless, worked in the industry for years. She was Toni Braxton's executive assistant for years (and Toni even thanked her at an award's show once, and you could see my friend on TV sitting next to her; and behind her at another show).

My friend was New Edition's first road manager. She watched the movie and was p-i-s-s-e-d that she wasn't mentioned or her contributions weren't noted. I mean, I wasn't defending the movie, but told her this shit is fictionalized. It's not a documentary. It's not word-for-word as to what happened. It's why I don't watch these things, because they're never going to get it exactly right. They also aren't going to include every single person in the grander scheme of things. She sure didn't make it into Toni's movie, and she was as much a part of Toni's life as anyone during that time. (She came on board shortly after the first album's promo wrapped up). Facts weren't totally correct in the Whitney movie either.

I told my friend she needs to get filmed, and do her own real documentary, and talk about her life, who she worked with, what she saw, the life she led, etc.

She said one time that Mint Condition was touring with Toni Braxton. She was going around to everyone's room giving them the itinerary for the next day. She walked in Stokley's room, and he was dead on pantless. Dick swinging and everything. She said she'd seen some dicks in her day, but she stopped dead in her tracks and about dropped to her knees when she saw Stokley's member. So whatever he's got, she was all about it. But she never fucked him. She didn't really do that, actually - sleep around - although there's tons of dick and pussy on any tour to be had.

He'd either just gotten out of the shower, or was changing clothes, and just happened to be pantless. By the time she was in the room, he was too late realizing he was exposed.

But I guess they both needed kneepads. Him to avoid bruising. lol
