Eminem has even gone on record saying that his rap style was inspired by Masta Ace and Treach...Eminem didnt break any new ground creatively...he fell off after the Marshall Mathers lp (his second), and became a caricature of himself...strangely enough, thats about when the fame and overstated accolades started...his first 2 lps were cool...but thats about it...he BEEN runnin on fumes... Cypress Hill was NOT white...B-Real is half mexican half cuban, and Sen-Dog is afro-cuban...DjMuggs was white but he was neither the face nor voice of the group Tue dat my bad. i don't listen to them at all but from memory as a kid they were one of the very few that were indeed different than Beastie Boys and Ice but realistically I didnt know their races honestly.
It's odd that even though his later albums still sold very well despite them being not as classic as the first three, nobody can understate him; as seen in the topic video. Eminem indeed always gave credit to his influences and comings up.

Who's bitching? It seems like you're the one with the damn problem trying to legitimize Eminem position in the rap game. If he is considered a great rapper by you or the masses so be it. Eminem's past success doesn't bother me anymore than 50 Cent whose music I don't care for either. I can easily tune them both out. It seems to me that a few people had differing opinions that you didn't want to hear and appears you're the one bothered and you're throwing accusations of racism into it. It may just be that you're the one with the race problem. Get over yourself everyone on the org isn't a damn Eminem fan and it has nothing to do with race just like everyone on the org isn't all in on Prince and MJ. By the way did you take a poll of whom you claim to be bitching to determine if they are black? That' s an assinine comment coming from you and believe me I'm being nice as I can about it. Overrated? in what sense, you're saying that just because he is white, if his songs were sung by a black guy, then you would say nothing at all.

racist and sexist post...
So every time I see a black artist, let alone a black female artist like Rihanna doing a track with this cunt...
I mean, for fuck’s sake, even by observing his corny wigger hand gestures to the mirror in the opening scene of the film
white establishment makes a damn fine job of whitewashing the truth whilst simultaneously whitewashing a black genre.
I'm all for black pride as an African American male, but not the degredation of other persons due to race. That makes one a hypocrite. Now the term "whitewashing" is an actual subject as seen in Egyptian historical memoribilia come to life on television but not in this case....Emeinem did not "whitewash" anything as he stand with the greats of rap who are 95% African American so.... Replace these words with black and shit would hit the fan..
Let me see what else you posted...

The biggest reason he's overrated, his fans. They're white people, who hold up his lyrical content as the greatest because he doesn't talk about things that make them uncomfortable. Somehow they believe Eminem is a much more lyrical artist because he doesn't say the word nigga as much as someone like Nas, Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, Ice Cube, Rakim etc. Do you see where I'm going with this. His fans are the same people that leave comments on country covers of rap songs like "this is what real music sounds like." His fans are the same "progressive" white people who support Bernie Sanders but are quick to yell "all lives matter," or tell you why Bernie Sanders is blacker than you.
This post is more legitimate.
Eminem even knows he fell off, but in a sense that is what makes him interesting. In all of his albums he talk about his career paths, ups and downs from how he started doing drugs again because he didnt know what else to write about, to talking about rehab, to wondering if he should start shit with Kanye West (who now has more classic albums and productions than many other rap artists) and Lil' Wayne to revive his career when it was panned by the release of "Relapse" (which I liked imo). I don't think you really know him as a artist. Is it his fault his fans (he has a larger fan base than all other white rappers) racked up his albums instead of illegally downloading them especially at a time when there was no social media? Who are you really mad at?
You as a non fan I feel are speaking out the outside looking in. Literally, If you don't own every album, listened to each song...your message is not clear. Some other people who dont like him might listen but...i dunno dude you are reaching. [Edited 1/25/17 14:10pm] Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Its not white cultural appropriation when his top fan base are part of the majority in the country dude. That was just bound to happen. His credibility in rap however needs to further comment as stated in the posters video.
Now these days I like Kanye and Common even more than Eminem but his talent, history and craft can't be denied as evidenced by Campaign Speech recently.

Eminem is the English language's greatest rap wordsmith. If you try to deny that then you're definitely not listening to what he's saying. That "Campaign Speech" is downright peerless. Every word fits PERFECTLY within the sentence and construct. I doubt Jay-Z has EVER done anything like that. I know DAMN well Kanye cannot do that!! So to compare those two to Eminem is utterly ridiculous. And like Eminem said in the song, with all these third, fourth, fifth, and sixth-rate rappers trying to come for him, they better get REAL careers first before they even try to do something like that. Jay and Kanye don't have tracks like this under their belt. They more so have structured forms of rap like most mainstream artists. What Kanye has on Em is structure in his albums, sound and themes. Something Em has lacked more recently being that he is not a very thorough producer like Kanye. Jay has great songwriting ability, especially catchy club hip hop tunes and had written hits for others especially Foxy Brown. They each bring theor own talent to the table. Eminems flow is just crazy and cannot be denied. Thats why everybody shook about him still especially younger hip hop acts. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

I listened to Campaign Speech and I listened with an open mind and I'm just not feeling it. He sounds cornball and roided up. I listened to Rap God and while it doesn't wow me I like his flow on it better than Campaign Speech which I think is a hot ass mess. Sorry not everyone is an Eminem fan. I admitted I always liked Lose Yourself but not much else and not any song I can name by memory. His flow doesn't impress me for the most part. He raps like WWE wrestler John Cena when he got in the biz portraying a rapper as part of his gimmick. Don't laugh at my funk
