Oh no this is terrible! Mariah was well and truly exposed! Many have known that she has lip synced either portions or entire songs for almost 20 years now. This is nothing new!

Maybe this needed to happen so that Mariah can finally get the vocal surgery she has needed for a LONG time. Her vocal problems started all the way back in 1997. Chaka Khan had similar issues in the late 80s and came back sounding better than ever after her surgery. Let's hope Mariah will finally address this issue!

I'm a hard core Mimi fan but damn that was a very awkward performance. It seems like she just gave up a few times during the show. I wish the people around her would just be honest with her about her recent performances instead of being "yes men" and stroking her ego, in fear of losing their jobs. Wow, this was a very embarrassing moment. I could hardly watch it because it made me feel uncomfortable.

She could´ve just pretended to sing instead of talking while the audio was still playing, at least it would´ve looked better .

Most folks were probably too drunk or high or ecstatic to tell she was lipsynching anyway. She should have just gone on with the show and at least pretended she was singing instead of making up silly excuses on the spot.

Props to her for wearing that outfit on a cold December night though. That must´ve taken some nerves.

Give it up MC...your time has passed... your stage show is a fucking joke and corny as shit, your voice is shot and you exposed yourself at your own expense to millions and millions people around the world that you are a fraud by using precorded tracks from 25 years ago...

I thought the same thing. Maybe she will finally get the surgery. But I think she's concerned she will lose her whistle note- and she could, but she can retrain her voice and sound better in her lower registers. Because for the past years- she's basically has been trying to hide the fact she can't really sing live.

She sounds good in the studio, but Im sure she has been living in fear she was going to get exposed. And she was full ass out last night.

For an artist of Mariah's stature, talent and success, she ought to be ashamed of yourself for this embarassing performance. Like I said in the other thread, Mariah seems to be more fixated in superficial things and not on her talent. She is one of the greatest pop voices to ever make it in the game, really disappointing. I personally think she should just retire because she has nothing to prove. However, she is tarnishing her legacy with these performances as of late. She really did not even give a fuq towards the end!!!!! I feel like Mariah has some serious personal problems going on behind the scenes with her and this whole "diva" persona is a facade. The ones who act the most bitchy and narcistic are the ones with the most problems.

she has been using pre-recorded material for ages on tours and shows. Not shocked this happenend, she was blaming the monitor and being able to hear, which is something that someone singing LIVE needs to worry about. She was not LIVE at all at any point.

I can recall back when the LIVE 8 concert was going on, the band a-ha were having "monitor" issues, what was happening was the band could hear everything but lead singer had nothing playing in his ears so he took them off and basically played off of what he could see the band doing which is difficult when you have a few hundred thousand cheering and screaming and live feeds going all over the world. It sounded off and the band had to cut a song out of the set because it was not a good live show and for a band that tours and has a rep for touring, its not good. But with Mariah it was odd because there is no band there, nothing was a live feed she is singing or miming to a recorded track made earlier which is her band in a way. Whatever it was it for some reason had her high notes on another loop that was with music and that played, but she was so off and clueless she was talking to the crowd playing it off while she was also hitting high notes.
