Remember Mother's Finest??? I just hope that Prince cover one of their tunes. They remind me sooo much of him! I got the Very Best Of Mother's Finest and I just don't seem 2 get enough of it. Those guys are sooo crazy lol and I love the RnB feel mixed with the rocky tunes. Prince is the only one I could think of who did that(after them).
My fave songs from them are "Mickey's Monkey", "Give You All The Love (Inside Of Me)" and "Baby Love". I just hope they could come back again and show MTV whats the real ROCK music anyway, whateva happend 2 them?

U shoud get the album Another mother further
from 1977.It´s a classic & it includes the slow jam highpoint "Thank you for the love". That´s my favourite & it´s not included on any of their compilations as far as I know. I saw them live last summer in Stockholm & they sho' kick ass live. /peace Manki

Their album 'Iron Age' rules!!
THAT is hard funk rock. Baby G (their singer) should be a LOT better known. There's no justice in the world.

I guess because it has Led Zep's "Custard Pie" guitar riff, to me the only memorable song from their Very Best Of album was their Smokey & The Miracles cover "Mickey's Monkey"...but I have heard that it only has songs from their first two albums. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

They did an aftershow gig with Prince and the NPG in 1992 in Munich after Prince's concert. Sadly no fans were allowed. With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

The song is called "Too Rough".I think Prince later offered it to somebody else (one of his own acts?) but they also refused to sing it.Must have been a controversial song!

Harlepolis! Have 2 thanku! These guys rocked - I bought 'Black Radio Wont Play This Record*' back in '92 - and was taotally blown away by it. But until u mentioned it in your post - I'd not played it 4 years - so just dug it out, and am groovin right now so thanx 4 reminding me!
I did see them supporting 'Badlands' around 92/93 and they were supa kool. HIGHLY under-rated. Unfortunately, their record label dropped themn after this album* and I remember I always always hoped that Prince would do the right thing and sign them 2 Paisley - would've definatly given Paisley's label some kudos. Man - trax like: 'Like A Negro', 'Attitude (man, this really gave Guns n Roses a run 4 their money!!!) 'Power', 'Head Bangin' & Booty Shakin' - awesome! My fave was always 'Generator' - Man, she had one helluva voice! They deserved SO much more recognition than they ever got - it was a shame - they reform? Or go off and do different things? Would love 2 know what Joyce is up 2 now... Anyone out there who aint heard this group should really do themselves a favor and try and unearth some of their stuff - try the 'net... Mother's Finest - WE MISS U!

I remember one saturday morning, getting all ready for my saturday-morning-cartoons fix, when I walked in the kitchen to get a peanutbutter sandwich and then saw the mothafucking Wizzard sitting at the table having breakfast with my folks... That shit blew my mind and of course that year I begged and pleaded for a bass-guitar... And luckily got one... SHIIIT... Mother's Finest ROCKS Y'ALL! Neversin. O(+>NIИ<+)O
