Their last album, "Rock Dust Light Star," was pretty close to their original sound from the 90's, which I also prefer. You should check it out if you haven't already. I'm not blown away by the new tracks but still plan to check out the album.



Yeah 'Rock Dust Light Star' was somewhat of a return to their earlier sound.It is similiar to the 'Traveling Without Moving' sound.One song in particular,"She's A Fast Persuader",sounds like a long-lost outtake from TWM.

the only problem with Rock Dust Light Star was the way it was promoted."Blue Skies" was a poor choice for the first single,and "White Knuckle Ride" wasn't a good choice either.They should have chosen "All Good In The Hood" and the excellent "Two Completely Different Things" as the singles.

I agree Blue Skies wasn't the best lead single..WKR wasn't bad, but considering what else was on the album it wasn't the best choice either. "All Good" or even "Fast Persuader" would've been better. I liked both on first listen. Both "Automaton" and "Cloud 9" are much stronger leads then "BK" and "WKR". Although neither of them got me on first listen.

I have a good feeling about this album. It'll probably be a mixture of both electronic and some live instruments (they wouldn't totally abandon that would they?) biggrin

a DJ got the chance to hear the new album and this is what he said about it:

"65% of the album is what you'd expect from Jamiroquai. 35% is a little bit different"

stuartzender @josannehk I heard Automaton and I love it! I miss jay! He's so awesome! He will always be one of the most enigmatic and conscious artists to come out of England. No one writes lyrics like him. I hope we can work together on a project soon.

I gotta say,I am very impressed and surprised by the aggressive promotion this project is receiving.It certainly wasn't like this for the last album ('Rock Dust Light Star').The new album isn't due until March 31 but already we have two singles,a video and one on the way,an official remix,and possibly another single before the album release date.The record company are really doing their job!
