what i've learned watching this is mariah has little to no control over her camp. she has a incompetent manager, her tour is extremely unorganized, random people who works for her pretty much tells her what they will or will not do, she's intimadated by her bossy background singer. she dont put much time or effort into her shows. Her manager has fired most of the people around her and replaced them with her family and friends, the 12 year old daughter runs mariah's social media and according to the manager...'who's better to run it since 12 year olds are their target demographic'. I've never really liked mariah because of her diva act but i'm starting to think she puts on like that because of insecurity, she seems like a nice sweet person who lets people take advantage of her. |

Nah, she don't let people take advantage of her, she takes advantage of them.
For example: Wanting her ex boy toy to pay her $50 million for an inconvience fee. |

I still like Mariah, she is very old school Divaesque but her whole "Daaahling" Schtick has worn thin. I much preferred the MC upto Butterfly although Butterfly album is arguably the best in her discography. Her outfits she wears now are like smh, because she doesn't need to go down the T&A route. That's for the bubblegum pop starlets who need skimpy outfits to get attention. Mariah Carey is underrated as a songwriter and whilst her vocals aren't 100% anymore she still is a top echelon level artist. What she desperately does need is an image makeover, wear flattering evening gowns and go the classy route. A big band/standards album showcasing her voice is what her manager should be pushing for. Or an album of soul/R&B covers minus guest features. Or even something like a return to the Vision of Love, Music Box days. Take it back to basics and stop being a caricature of herself. I've been a fan of Mariah since Vusion of Love too and she's somebody who I think have created a persona which has travelling in the slow lane and her career has arguably stalled since Rainbow. I think her fan base is incredibly loyal and they should get it across that whilst the glamorous @gimmick" is all well and good, first and foremost Mariah is a singer and songwriter. Dutch the glitter and do a real authentic record. A lot of MCs private life is smoke and mirrors so her writing about her life would make her a real person in many fans eyes again. Right now she's a cartoon of herself, whilst her Bianca character is funny, it's kinda worrying she goes into an alter ego mode."Mimi" seems another character she's made too, so if she cut these aspects out and was for real, I think we'd see a resurgence of her career. As a long time fan it's kinda surreal to see the Vision of Love seemingly mature grown folks music turn into music really which a younger artist should record like "Obsessed" and "Touch my Body". Mariah has wrote some great, inspiring songs in the past like "Hero" but 2016 MC and 1994 Mariah are like chalk and cheese. She has a great deal of talent, she just needs an image overhaul and to be coming from a real place. Otherwise I think her legacy will sadly be tarnished a bit because people will just see the Diva instead of a true talent she was and I think still is. I'm watching Mariah World but shows such as this do more harm than good. If she dropped the Mimi persona and it was the real Mariah it would help rebrand her for the better. But so far it's having the opposite affect. Back in say 1998 a MC show which have been like super cool to me but now I'm just watchong out of curiosity and loyalty.
Our favorites live in their bubbles (we all know Prince lived in prince world for example), each of our favorites are a little off of the reality meter; but in my opinion gives them a little fun to know. Largely, while people praise her early material before Butterfly imo some of it is a tad boring and repetitive. I am glad she scaled back the rappers in recent years as they started to drown her output (No Mariah not every song needs some thug in the middle section), as well I hope she learned a few things about working with boring Dupri again. She has taken the liking to Jim Wright who has basically become the new Walter in her career. I am very glad to see he is the music director in her show. They have made some classics together since Emancipation of Mimi. Really no one really been checking for her like that since E=MC2 from my point of view so its good to see what she is doing and how she is doing it now and days.
I hope she comes out with a very good album soon. [Edited 12/13/16 15:10pm] Straight Jacket Funk Affair

That was one of the the things she said that slipped out of her mouth on the bus "people have been fkkn taking advantage of me for years, I trusted too many and they stabbed me in the back" or something like that. These are the things I hope to hear more of that not many people know about. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Ummm..it's definitely a reality show.
I'm DVR'ing it...I might watch a couple episodes to see if it seems too staged and if she really has this hilarious personality that she's known for...Whitney was Funny as hell on being Bobby Brown...I never knew Whitney was that naturally crazy...
