Well the grammys surprised me I guess they dont mind breaking records. Beyonce had the best album this year and I would say she deserves to win but Im not sure if she will. David bowie not being nominated for album of the year shows the ageism in society but theyll probaly give him best rock performance. Everything else seems standard I wonder if theyll be a prince tribute.

Can MotownSubdivision or Lastdecember break this down for me as far as how the Grammy nominations work? As far as I know the nominations are voted on by industry peers and usually typically consist of the best selling albums, songs, etc. Adele and Drake sold the most this year in pure sales and Rihanna did in singles, Drake and Rihanna scored number one singles and Drakes statistics broke records same with Adele....so why does Beyonce have more nominations than them? And I notice they add more categories just to specifically nominate Beyonce. I am so tired of this unfair industry bullshit.

How the hec does Bieber get a song of the year nod OVER Rihanna, Work was a NUMBER one single for TWO months???? ....They even gave Bieber an album of the year nod OVER Rihanna and Rihanna out sold him and had a better commercially successful album..

There is some SERIOUS politics and bullshit going on behind the scenes of the music industry, and I am not here for it. Rihana got snubbed....BIG TIME!!!

They should definitely do a Prince tribute! I still dream of an all-star funk party by Bruno, Janelle, Miguel, Beyoncé maybe, Thundercat, Anderson Paak... just anyone who is inspired by Prince.

I haven't watched a Grammy telecast since the early 90's, but I don't think they are always about commercial success. Of course, commercially successful artists will be nominated and win. However, I recall lots of nominations and wins over the years for artists/music that were not commercially successful. The Grammy's is voted on by people in the music industry. If Beyonce has enough clout with those who are voting, then, yeah, she's going to win big. I'm sure Adele will get the main awards since her album dwarfed everyone else in 2016 so they would have to give maybe Album of the Year, Song Of the Year and Record of the Year to her. Unless, of course, Beyonce persuades them otherwise. She's already #2 when it comes to females with most Grammy wins. You know she ain't gonna stop until she gets to #1.

Well to her credit she really surprised alot people with lemonade as it was truly a great album it tops majority of everyones 2016 best albums list. Her rock nom would be dont hurt yourself ft jack white most likely and I dont see how thats any different from mj winning best rock vocal for beat it ft eddie van halen. Still its no guarantee she'll actually win that.

Heres my prediction

Record of the year will go to either adele or 21 pilots but I have strong feeling it will go to 21 pilots.

Song of the Year will go to adele but justin bieber might have a shot.

Album of the year will go most likly go to beyonce based on the critical acclaim but its a small chance adele may cause an upset simply because of sells. Views was garbage and Im pretty sure they wont give it justin bieber the other guy Im pretty sure is irrelevant.

Chance the rapper may win best new artist maybe...

Like Steely Dan & Herbie Hancock in the 2000s. Eminem fans were upset about Steely Dan winning. The majority of Grammys are for categories that aren't mainstream popular or big sellers like polka, spoken word, and traditional blues. They're not shown on the TV broadcast though.

Not only was it terrible, it was not a bigger single compared to other contenders that were snubbed.

Drake's One Dance was the longest number one single in the UK and biggest number one single this year in the states and did not get a record of the year nod. I mean thats BullISH. Beyonce is obviously being unfairly nominated in undeserving categories.

They are not based on commercial success like the American Music Awards. It just that they often seem to give the nod to commercially successful albums and singles but not always. Just a couple years ago Beck won best album though only after the win did it have some commercial success. This year, Sturgill Simpson was hardly a commercial smash.

i havent listened to the entire lemonade album so i cant say if its as good as its hyped up to be, but if that formation song is the standard ...sorry but that song is trash. i cant believe its nominated for record and song of the year. im convinced the reviews and acclaim for her album is based off the visuals because the actually content of the music dont match the critical narrative. Beyonce is a master of illusions for pulling this off, she definately has the industry in a choke hold.

David Bowie should have been nominated for Album of the Year with Blackstar, not Justin Bieber....... what a crock of shit!!!!!!!
