Sure are I think he is okay but is still young and has potential to become much better. I do agree with the criticism that his bland and MOR. However, for him to be targeted like this is hard to believe given how much pop crap is actually much worse than him.

Him being targeted, is because he's so overhyped, as being greatly talented. People act like he's the second coming. He's mediocre at best and I'm being polite here.

Yes, It does get me to me when mediocre talent or less gets so much hype. However, I rarely blame the young singer/group that much but more so the music celebrity publicity machine and the public who falls for it. The times I feel some disgust for the actual singer is when they seem like a media whore, which I don't perceive Ed to be.

Hard to live up to that level of hype, for sure. Sounds worse if you're in the UK.

I heard a NEW artist say she was a cross between Tracy Chapman and Ed Sheeran to describe her guitar-based music, and I would say... comparing those two makes me appreciate him in an angle that maybe perhaps we haven't considered.

Wow, people are harsh in here!

No, Ed is not the standard goodlooking popstar, not all of his songs are good, but for me he is redeemed if only for this song. Strong song with a strong message. Nothing shallow about it IMHO.

RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...
