Today (September 13) marks exactly 20 years since the death of Tupac Shakur. As his theatrical biopic gears up for screenings, an expanded, second trailer to All Eyez On Me releases. In the film, Heads can see the portrayals of important figures to Shakur’s life including his mother Afeni Shakur, friend-turned-foe The Notorious B.I.G., and onetime label boss, manager, and friend Suge Knight.
The nearly two minute preview shows director Benny Boom’s vision on the project, as well as a look at the evolution of the performance by Demetrius Shipp, Jr. In this Morgan Creek Production trailer, viewers can appear to see glimpses of Shakur’s childhood, his mother’s tough guidance, time in and release from prison, and some of the star rapper’s many romances. The preview includes an allusion to the September 7, 1996 night of Shakur’s subsequently fatal shooting. All Eyez On Me went on location to Las Vegas, Nevada for that—near the actual site where it took place.

As confirmed by the production company, other public figures such as Dr. Dre, Faith Evans, Kidada Jones, and Jada Pinkett Smith are portrayed in the film. While the movie was originally announced to reach theaters on today’s anniversary, the latest trailer holds the suspense at “coming soon.”
The first trailer released on what would have been Shakur’s birthday, June 16.
