Actually... I kinda like Pink... Don't really know why, but she's a little out of the ordinary. I once saw a live show on TV where she even had the guts to cover Bohemian Rhapsody- and I'm not a Queen fan at all. She's alright.

Kanye West-The first four 5 albums were excellent (IMO). He doesn't really have a unique flow, but he is a pretty top notch producer. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was great, but Watch the Throne was average, Yeezus was boring and The Life of Pablo is still kind of bleh. Since the merger of the West/Kardashian empire, the music and inspiration seem to have regressed ALOT.

50 cent-Get Rich or Die Trying was great, but since then, he seems uninspired and more interested in social media beefs.

Beyonce/Rihanna/Katy Perry/Taylor Swift et al.-I admire their ability to produce substandard music that passes as Pop/R&B, but they are middle of the road in terms of their accolades. "Icons" without true iconic moments (MJ Thriller, Prince Purple Rain, Madonna Like a Virgin, etc). The media is so quick to annoint titles upon people, yet will their music truly stand the test of time?

New metal/rock-Lame without the real fire of their forebearers. Even the hair bands of the 1980's had some degree of originality, even if their music was middle of the road.

The Disneyfied teen explosion of the late 90's/early 2000's. Who new that the Mouse would infest the mainstream culture with disease and pestilence in musical form.

Mainstream hip hop-Sonically geared for the strip club audience (see Fetty Wap/Drake). Even their "beefs" seem contrived (Drake vs. Meek Mill/everybody else). Ringtone Rappers.

This is how I feel exactly. I don't see how any of the pop stars today can be considered "Icons" when they don't have any Iconic albums or moments that reasonates culturally and will be remembered as classics. I feel that people have dumbed down the meaning of what it means to be an Icon particularly when it comes to pop stars. IMO, its much more to being an Icon besides just being famous and popular. In 50 years from now, we will still be talking about Michael Jackson, Prince and Madonna for their Iconic "moments", the pop stars of today won't be remembered the same.

Agree and Thats because her "icon image" is manufactured by the media and her PR team. In other words, its not real. However, when you look pass the smoke and mirrors, she doesn't hold up to what it means to be an Icon. She has Zero classic albums, songs, iconic moments and performances, no innovation or originality. No one is not even talking about that Lemonade album and its been what 4 months after its released. She has done nothing groundbreaking for the music industry or introduced anything new to music as MJ, Prince and Madonna did. I think she will be looked back as being one of the more popular stars of this time.... but she won't be revered as an icon in music as Prince, MJ and Madonna are and will continue to be. No amount of awards and ass kissing is going to change that either. The thing about MJ, Prince and Madonna is that the public MADE them Icons. Thats how you become an Icon in the first place. With Beyonce, it seems more of the industry and media trying to make her an Icon more so than the actual public. Thats why nothing she has done has actually made a groundbreaking impact culturally.

I'm not into Johnny Rebel. He sings ok, but I can't figure out if he's serious or if it's an act and he's joking. Because the music he released under other names has nothing to do with the songs under the "Johnny Rebel" name.

.

Never liked:

D'Angelo

112

Insane Clown Posse

Anthony Hamilton

Sir Charles Jones

Wayne Newton (after his voice changed. I can listen to his 1960s voice.)

Macy Gray

Rascal Flatts

Smashing Pumpkins

T Pain

Brian McKnight

Luke Bryan

Ne-Yo

Marilyn Manson

Jagged Edge (I like the song with Nelly)

Tom Waits

Usher

Daddy Yankee

Tupac Shakur (I do like I Get Around & California Love)

Shabba Ranks (I like the songs with Maxi Priest & Johnny Gill)

Jamie Foxx (his singing)

Presidents Of The United States Of America

B2K

Soulja Boy Tell'em

Avril Lavigne

Green Day

R. Kelly (other than 2 or 3 songs)

Akon

DJ Screw (I like 2 or 3 mixes like P.Y.T. by Michael Jackson. But I can't get into chopped & screwed in general, sounds like a broke 8 track tape to me. lol I like how Screw helped people though.)

Jamiroquai-Used to be by favorite band when I was 18-19, but I grew up, it got corny, just wasn't as intruguing as I matured. The whole Stevie Wonder/Space cowboy/70's act got old.

Portishead-Again, I grew up. I grew out of the "self-pity/woe is me" headspace. Shit just got depressing. I can remember the exact moment I wasn't feeling it anymore. I was bumping Glory Box one day, and I was like, "Why is she begging a man to love her?" Love yourself. From a trip hop perspective the instrumentation, arrangement, and evocative lyrics were unique for it's time. But it's just not healthy to listen to on a regular basis.

It seems that a good artist in the age of mediocre is an Icon. When in the 80's they would been hot for a moment and then replace with the new version of hot. In the 80's you had to be great to rise above all the good to become an Icon.

Damye (Kanye) West - liked him briefly in 2005/6

.

Madonna - nearly finished with her

.

Elton John - will always love his pre 1997 material, but nothing interesting in years - snoree!!! Plus he needs to stop being such a primadonna bitch (Then again so do I).

.

Stevie Wonder - Last interesting music in mid 80s, but I will still respect him for his legacy.

.

All rappers and shit hop - Loved it up to 1996, grew up and got over it, now hate it.

.

Macy Grey - Loved her first album, then it was all down hill and the drugs as well

.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Really loved them up to By the Way (2002), hardcore fan, bought everything, but since then really gone off them, their new music sounds like their older shit with none of the fun or inventiveness.

.

Mariah Carey - her 1989 - 1999 output was flawless and I kind of like We belong together, he recent stuff is unlistenable.

.

Saline Dion - Loved her 90s stuff, her later stuff is not there or just pappy ballads. Her French music is really catchy too.

.

All of these artists except Macy Grey and Damye, I will always respect for their legacy, just not their new shit.

Wyclef Jean. Something about him annoys me and I just don't understand his appeal. I feel like he's more of an imitator than an artist. Maybe because he was stealing money from his organization that was to give money to help Haiti then he turned around and ran for President of Haiti. shrug

Nicki Minaj. She's just an ignorant POS. I don't see how people waste their hard earned dollars making this trick rich.

Busta Rhymes. Used to love his music in high school and in college...but then when he got all on this "no snitching" campaign, it turned me off. I mean if someone murdered his mother, his child or an immediate family member, would he exercise this same "no snitching" policy and encourage his friends and neighbors to do the same? Umm, I think not. Also, he was recently on VH1's Hip Hop Honors and I'm not sure if he was drunk or high but his profane laced speech about the honorees made absolutely no sense.

Beyonce. Sure, I like about 2 or 3 of her songs out of her whole catalog including her time with Destiny's Children, but this chick puts out trendy hits that are foolishly classified as true creative work. Please.

Justin Bieber. A straight up wanna be.

Justin Timberfake. The king wanna be.

Pink's R&B work was pretty cookie-cutter early 2000s urban contemporary. I still bump those songs because of the nostalgia factor and I like her voice. But there's nothing much exceptional in there, and there's a reason Pink disowned that first album.

I no longer like the red hot chili peppers. They haven't been good since Mother's Milk. Pink hasn't been good since her debut album. I don't understand the hype surrounding her. As for people I never liked...

Taylor Swift - writes songs on the level of a five year old.
Maroon Five - need I say more?

Flo Rida - absolutely dreadful
Katy Perry - trash

Most shit hop artists are either a hoe or a coon, Nicki is both, a coonish hoe, she is a coon for putting on pink lipstick and general monkeyshines, and ahoe as her music is filthy and sick to the extreme. Also because the most ratchet ghetto trash like her. I watched several Advise show videos and TNN raw stuff and they usually show ratchet people going on about her or liking her, also one showed a 3 year old girl in nappies next to her 16 year old mother and the girl was saying "Nicki minaj, nicki minaj bitch" and that was all she could say while 16 year old mother with some outrageous name I could not remember, was swearing at the Police because her man Dontrell was being carted off for making crack or some shit.

.

Plus the fact she has no musical talent at all, her rhymes are ridiculous and her videos are stupid and the songs are beefed up with ridiuclous beats and samples. Honestly wtf is that beat in Beez in the trap and what the hell is Superbass about. She is the 2010s equivalent of Zip Coon and the Jezebel all rolled in one.

Really, you don't like Blood Sugar sex magik or Californication, they are great albums. Even One Hot minute has some good songs like My friends and Aeroplane.

.

Mothers milk is a great album, Stonecold Bush, Subway to Venus, Taste the Pain - I mean wow!

Uplift Mofo party plan is probably their best, just so raw! I kind of agree, the Chilis were better when they were an underground act and before Under the Bridge made them all mainstream.

.

By the way was their last good album, Stadium Arcadium and anything later is dreadful.
