I love Jazz but I didn't develop a love for it until a friend 4 years younger introduced me to it in 2000 and she used to get me in some of the Jazz spots around town. I never talk about it here because I don't think a whole lot of Orgers are into it. I like listening on the weekends. It's soothing and relaxing. Please talk about it! Even if there'd be only one orger interested, it wouldn't be a waste! Don't let what you think other people will think stop you!

Did I also mention any kind of music by the likes of Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Selena Gomez or any other act aimed at teeny boppers. AAARRRGGGGHHHH!!! Turn it off! . Generic, machine pumped crap devoid of any originality or musical talent, merely posing to beats. No singing just autotune and lip sinking. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Yuuuuuuuup cookie cutter shit I can't stand Keep Calm & Listen To Prince

They have some good tunes, don't be so hard on them; Prince did some songs that weren't great with awful lyrics but very catchy, like Good Love which has some ridiculous lyrics, but is quite catchy. They have catchy and very well produced songs, some of you just like to despite today's music just for the love of it.

I agree. I LOVE "Love yourself" - like to pump up the live version of it and listen to all the little kids sing along ....and I loved nearly ALL of Katy Perry's last album. I like SG's "I'm so sick of that same old love" too - it's not too catchy, but it's not bad either....

Love Yourself it's a very good song, i love it and I'll Show Yopu is great too, Where Are U Now,No Sense, from Selene Hands To Myself is a very good song i love the line: " But doctor says you're not good, but people say what they want to say".
Just tell if lyrics from Love Your self doesn't make more sense that lyrics from Good Love or for instance Debaser from the Pixies, and yet musically those two songs are most likely better than Love Yourself.

So what is wrong with that, the average age on this site is 45, I am under that average. I am sure there are forum boards for Gomez and Bieber. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I know! I just hate songs that sound like that. Especially that awful 'Ballad of Dorothy Parker'. synths and drum machines, yuck! good thing this forum is for an artist who has never used synths or drum machines in his life.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
To be fair, Prince always mixed electronics with musical instruments.

Do you hate Ballad of Dorothy Parker for real?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Think again, compadre. Scratch was being sarcastic, but he didn't get what Adore was trying to say, which is, Adore said, he doesn't like music with only electronics (and no live instruments) , but Scratch misunderstood, thinking Adore doesn't like electronic sounds and now 214 misunderstands Scratch's posts.... I can only quote George Clinton: Think! It ain't illegal yet! [Edited 8/15/16 12:50pm]

The difference between Prince's electronic sound and those found on modern glossy pop and boyband/video ho singers is, that Prince creates the beats and electronics, he play instruments. Prince writes the song, does all the instruments and programmes all the synthesisers and electronic machines. The average pop song does not, often the beats are looped or smaples that are cut and mixed for a song. The rhythm track usually sells a modern song, all the pretty boy or skank singer does is talk or sing over it. . Take Uptown vs Uptown festival - First one was written, composed and instrumentalised by Prince, he did everything (Okay the usual disputavos over how many keyboard notes the pre Revolution gave), but Uptown festival is borrowed beats and some marginal quality singing with almost no lyrical diversity, its like a prime British made product next to a cheap Chinese knockoff in quality comparison. . Modern electric music is machine pumped, meaning a machine pumps the beat, with Prince he was the machine doing the pump and made the pumped beats originally. Beats and melody pretty much stopped after the 1990s and a lot of cirrent pop borrows beats and loops from the disco through to the new jack swing era (1974 - 1992), of course cut up and mixed to death.
