Gwen Stefani's Tour from Heck

This gal, I just feel so polarized thinking of her anymore.

.

On one hand, I wish she could reprise her glory days as that high-note wailing rock chick that could spit then smile and still look cute. On the other hand she has cultivated this bombshell popstar image for over a decade now, almost two. I didn't even complain when she started hosting a show where she judged other people's singing abilities. eek

.

Should I feel sad reading that she is hacking low ($40) ticket prices in half? Or that I'm now seeing blind item gossip pieces that her TV paramour Blake is "begging" her to have a baby and axe her awful tour? How convenient that he desperately wants a child as she is slashing non-selling tickets to her tour. Gwen get yo' shit together.

if it was just a dream, call me a dreamer 2

I'll always have a soft spot for her for No Doubt. Tragic Kingdom is one of the best albums of the 90's and her whole aura through that decade was the epitome of cool for me at the time. The follow up to that album wasn't bad, but little of what she's done since (aside from her first solo album, I like that one) has been interesting at all. confused

If you will, so will I

She should just do like Janet did: announce she's pregnant and use that as the excuse to cancel a tour that is not selling smile

She doesn't do any of the No Doubt songs on this tour does she?

I like her first solo album a lot and one or two songs from the second one, but she has a limited number of solo hits.

People go to larger arena shows to hear a good number of songs they know plus a few new things sprinkled in.

Why is she against doing No Doubt songs? Singers do songs from their old bands all the time when they tour as solo artists.

I can't see her being able to tour without doing some of the No Doubt stuff because that's still the first thing most people think of when they hear her name.

I haven't heard about her tour coming to Canada. I am actually enjoying the pop on her latest album!

Also, because her most recent solo album didn't really take off, why didn't she consider finding another artist to tour with to draw more people in?

I think if she wanted to make this tour a success, there were lots of things she could do, rather than just relying on her reality show fame.

I did see No Doubt once years ago and she actually was a great performer with a lot of charisma and energy.

Her opening act is Eve...someone who also hasn't had a big hit in awhile.

at this point, she should just reschedule the shows in smaller venues.

I've said this many times before and I stand by it......Gwen is great with No Doubt, but she sucks on her own. Nothing but sugary pop. No substance. She needs to get back with the band and make some serious music.

I just saw this alarming headline on a celebrity news site....

Are Gwen Stefani tickets really going for $10?

I didn't read the article, but didn't really need to.Her tour is screwed. When you have to markdown your ticket prices to $10,you may as well just stay home.

Sounds like it's time to do smaller venues...Venues with 1500 to 3000 seats...She should even tour College Campuses..She'd def sell out smaller venues in the South...

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Maybe she needs to swallow some pride and accept that she is not a superstar, but moving to smaller venues with a few festivals thrown in would solve the problem. And America is big, so you could tour that way for a long time. Bob Dylan has been touring this way for almost thirty years (including the college campuse).

As a longtime No Doubt fan I just hate that she's alienated her former bandmates. I'm hoping she comes back around to them at some point because they make great music together.

Beyonce did the same thing. She marked down her 100 dollar tickets to 20 dollars on her Formation Tour in Wembley because it was not selling as well. Gwen is not the only pop star that does this. I hope she goes back to No Doubt.

Didn't Prince do something similar on his concerts in LA in 2011?

I like No Doubt too! But I'm not sure if it's that she's alienated from them as much as that they don't like the same type of music anymore.

She is really into the pop, dance, R&B stuff whereas they are into the more rock, alternative and ska stuff.

Bands can work through personal issues, but it's kind of impossible to make a record if you don't at least like some of the same music.

Interesting how low those ticket sales are, but not a fan anyway. Never liked her voice. Don't even find her all that attractive either. There are more capable, better lookin' singers out there imho. smile

The biggest problem with the tour was she didn't make people aware she was going to be doing the No Doubt stuff too. The title of the tour made people think it would just be her solo material which has had mixed success.

I agree her voice is not the best. Everyone loves to criticize Madonna's voice, but Madonna's voice is much better than Gwen's. Gwen's tone is not that appealing to me and she doesn't invest emotion in her singing the way that Madonna does.

I think Gwen is very attractive with unique style, but she puts too much emphasis on the look. It overshadows everything else. If you read an interview with Gwen, she really is boring with nothing interesting or insightful to say. Whereas someone like Madonna is much more intelligent and thoughtful with thought provoking things to say.

I think the decision to play No Doubt songs came when the ticket sales didn't. No Doubt's guitarist seems pretty over it.

Tom Dumont @nxd4b This was her choice, which she has every right to. & I have the right to my opinion about it - which I’m gonna keep private. ☮️🐼(from his Twitter, when asked how he felt about Gwen playing No Doubt songs on the tour)

Please, where did you get your information from? Wembley was sold out very quickly (30 minutes). Beyonce sold out amsterdam (50.000 tickets) in 20 minutes.
