I'm not really upset that she pulled this video.I think the video is great and so is the message, but by cancelling it,Madonna won't have to take alot of abuse from the uptight, conservative pro-war crowd. They were just waiting for the opportunity to go after her.

And I don't think the album will suffer as a result.Look around.Madonna is,once again, getting a ton of publicity for a controversial music video that won't be shown on the music channels. In the end, this can only boost record sales (and NO,I'm not saying that this was her plan all along...lol).People are gonna be curious and they're gonna wanna know what all the commotion is about.

The only thing that matters is,on April 22,we will have a new Madonna CD smile
and you still say with a Straight Face that She is More Normal than Michael Jackson? Man Please! MJ wouldn't pull no stunt like that.aside from the "Black Or White" Video MJ ain't tried to pull no Ploys at Selling His Albums at the start of a release.

Pulling the video was NOT a "stunt"! Madonna pulled it out of respect for the troops. Why is that so hard to understand?

I repeat...

War was inevitable. Film a video featuring hand grenades, George Bush etc and ensure yourself some 1st class PR by either (a) showing the video - causes great offence or (b) pull the video causing much internet activity and speculation (just look at us here for chrissakes!)

Guaranteed column inches either way. Like I say - she's a smart cookie alright. But her true talent lies in PR and self promotion.

This isnt entirely a bad thing of course. We kind of have 2 extremes here - Madge a PR guru of questionable musical innovativeness (?) and Prince - a musical genius in serious need of some PR and promotion!! Now if he only had an ounce of Madge's PR touch...

I might be repeating myself but the damage seems to be done. Madonna can't get the song played on Clear Channel, so unless the single sells a million copies (which could happen but I doubt it) the song and the album will likely do bad. I don't know if Madonna can take on the entire media and the government (which appear to be the same thing these days). Its just to hard!

Is the cigar a Clinton reference, Bush should release some tension and get his dick sucked already? smile

lol lol lol

"It's my kind of wish for peace and my desire to sort of turn a weapon of destruction, which is a grenade, into something that is completely innocuous," Madonna said. "It's my wish to find an alternative to violence, to war and destruction."

That's certainly an alternative! evillol

maybe she's taking the hint from seeing the mess George Micheal has made for himself...or maybe it's just the
right thing to do...

And the Dixie Chicks. I don't believe for one second her sole reason for pulling it was out of respect for the troops.

no, he did it for the album, that has one of those statues on the cover, and a 10 minute promotional video of him marching with some quasi-military troop.
