Anyone else obssessed with Tame Impala and their genius frontman Kevin Parker?

To me, Tame Impala is the greatest living rock band today, and here's why:

They're not just a psychedelick rock revival band, that was InnerSpeaker, their first album, which was a good psych record that had nice riffs, cool acid multi-layered vocals and a lot of John Lennon/Paul McCartney Sgt Pepper kind of songwriting...

But nothing compares to Lonerism, my favorite album of the decade, each song on that album is basically a whole diffrent odyssey, Elephant is basically a masterpiece, and there are some really unique, weird lyrics. Lonerism is kind of InnerSpeaker upgraded level, more original arrangements, Kevin Parker messed up completely with those guitar pedals and synthesizer effects that he managed to create an atmospheric jazzy mood for each song. It's like The ArchAndroid, a metropolian sci-fi concept musical, but more 'acid', 'trippy' and 'surreal' than sci-fi or adventural.

And then comes Currents, totally a different odyssey, more focus on synthesizers, more rythmic arrangements (Cause I'm A Man is actually one of my favorite weird R&B moments on the record), there's some electro, white funk disco. It's a cool dancefloor record, just shows Parker's incredibly profound emphasize on creating pop music rather than pure rock compositions.

Tame Impala is preeeeetty awesome. Their second record was the soundtrack to the second half of my senior year of Highschool and my first semester of college. Lots of great sounds and riffs across their three albums. I would definitely recommend their single Sundown Syndrome, that has a really great rythmn to it. There's also a cover of the MJ song "Stranger of Moscow" that they released on soundcloud in early 2014 which absolutely slays. If you like "Cause I'm a Man," do yourself a favor and check it out. It's basically the demo for it in terms of how its played.

Kevin Paker's production work is also worth a visit. Melody's Echo Chamber's self titled album is great, especially if you're into Tame Impala. And there's also their collab with the Flaming Lips which is pretty alright as well as the covers they did of some of their songs, I especially loved their cover of Silver Trembling Hands. They also did fantastic covers of Prototype by Outkast and International Feel by Todd Rundgren that give the originals a run for their money.
