What ever happened to releasing something around the same time or day as your counterpart? Everybody's chicken. [Edited 2/9/16 7:54am]

^ The Half Time Super Bowl ratings only garnered 100 million views which has been the lowest in 8 years. If she is such a queen, Why is it lower than Katys, Madonnas, Brunos, Black Eyed Peas, The Who and countless others? She is not the queen of anything. She is crazy if she thinks she is and saying it doesnt make it true. You always have to pull Beyonces receipts because her hype will make it seem she is out here slaying when thats far the truth. The girl is clearly all hype and she has a ego the size of a stadium. No matter, she can be a bish but the public doesn't care for her as she likes to believe.
Also, Some of ya'll really need to wake up when it comes to Beyonce. Stop being so naive and believing her PR and media propaganda. I really think Rihanna doesn't cares about sells. I am not a fan of neither BUT Rihanna's Anti album is a REALLY good album and much more interesting than anything Beyonce has ever done musically. Rihanna needs to break away from Jay Z/Tidal and find new management. He is always slighting her and screwing her over in order to promote Beyonce

That was the whole reason around her deal with Samsung. She wanted to make sure her album sells could match Taylor Swift, Adele, and Beyonce. Now Beyonce is definitely pretentious. Her PR team is top notch and that definitely helps her. And Rihanna should definitely get from under JayZ. With all of the hoopla over her album release. I couldn't help be think it was purposely done. Something like that would never happen to Beyonce. JayZ wouldn't allow it. BlackCat1985

- True. So you're saying that she can't co-exist with Beyonce being out? I'd like to see how this pans out to be honest. I'm sure Jay-Z is going to try to make sure they make as much money as possible.

Rihanna wasn't thinking about sells when she (and her team) made the album because the album is not commercial or mainstream. Besides that Drake song and Kiss It Better, there are no other hits on the album. Its a very indie/alternative album musically.

So Beyonce will always out sell her tour wise. Rihanna's new song isn't all that great neither is Beyonce's. But Beyonce gets the edge because she's a better performer. - Do you think she supports it or oppose Beyonce's rollout campaign? If she feels like RocNation is undermining her promotion, that will quickly get old and she would finally cut ties with her mentor/management. She was on the other end at the beginning of her career when Jay Z had to choose between her and Teairra Mari @ Def Jam. - I wish her well though. I like her willingness to take risk and at least try to grow.

- Rihanna has the No. 1 album in the country.... - http://www.billboard.com/charts/billboard-200 - Granted Beyonce's numbers will probably exceed hers whenever she drops her album but at least she's No. 1 for now. - Adele is still in the top three after how many weeks? At least two months now. See that's the thing we also have to look at too. Longevity or an album's shelf life. Beyonce's last joint had mad hysteria in the beginning because of it being a surprise release.

Rihanna has 13 number singles (she ties with MJ in number one hit) while Beyonce just only has 5. I think Rihanna can co exist with Beyonce

Beyoncé is all style and no substance. She literally has only a handful of good songs. It looks like she has run out of performance ideas too. The SB performance looks like a 'single ladies' and 'run the world' rehash. People are just sheep to believe she is innovative. Rhianna is much more authentic and generally a lot more cooler than thunder thighs

One of the reasons why I stopped posting on here is most fonts of this forum's out-right dislike of Beyoncé and I see that some things never change. The rheotoric is as prediction as a snowstorm in Alaska in the Winter season. For one, if this site hate Beyoncé so much why does anyone even post a thread about her and her tour?
If she's as attention hungry and pretentious as y'all say she is then why post anything about her? So you can have reason to go on the usual Beyoncé bashing spree? One of the great things about where she's at her career is that she's at a place where she can do what she wants as an entertainer and not GAD about whether people dig her or not. Why? Because she has real fans. Not haters who choose to be "stans" of entertainers who are marketed at "Anti-Beyoncé's" so that they can use as a guise to project their feels onto her. Real fans, who allow her to be commercially revelant and successful even when she hasn't had a #1 one hit since "Single Ladies."
Also, she didn't say anything about Adele. In fact, Beyoncé hasn't even done an interview in a long time. Unless it is in her music or in videos that promote her music/brand, she's basically saying nothing which again irritates the "haters." It says more about this board that many of you actually believe that she said that she held back her album to let Adele release while putting out her single when Rihanna put her album.
Let me tell all of you something: Beyoncé does what she wants, when she wants. She puts out Surprise Albums at the stroke of midnight, Friday the 13th, no less just because she can without putting out a lead single before releasing the album and sell nearly a million in the states within 9 days of its release. She can do that because again, she's Beyoncé. She's labored hard ever since she was 8 years old to get to this point and she deserves every success she gets because she's worked hard to get where she is right now.
As for the video and song, it's awesome. Maybe it's too much contemporary slang for the board and too much "shit-hop" for y'all but no one slays at vocal syncopation, blurring the line between rap and singing like she does which has been doing since 1998. It's an influence on many of today's entertainers, including Rihanna who many of you think is "real" and "authentic." This board amazes me on so many levels.
Not to mention, what makes the song great because she's telling you that she slay and that she wants all black women to do the same. It's the extention of the theme that she's been about ever since DC4 as far as the "All-Inclusive Girl Power Message" that she has been shaped by ever since she was a child. It's her lane and she always make it work. Her execution of what she does is great art and what's makes Beyonce, Beyoncé.

They don't care. Beyoncé is the "Whipping Girl" on here for so many reasons that they are too many and nuanced to numerate. As far as I am concerned, even though I do appreciate some contemporary commercial acts, the only one I care about as an entertainer is Beyoncé and she's not even really contemporary to Taylor, Rihanna, Gaga, Katy, Adele and anyone else people want to name.
They have the most extreme theories and dissertations for why they dislike her and at the end of the day, Beyoncé has nearly 20 years in this industry and as we can see is still going strong. She don't need their validation or approval. She's lasted all of the pitfalls that young entertainers go through to make her own mark on this industry and as long as her fans continue to appreciate her, that's all that matter. Nothing else matters.

Take it another step further: Beyoncé is the only Woman of Color born in the states to release an album that has sold over 2 million in the states within this decade with "Self-Titled." Just want to show that what Beyoncé has been able to do even as her career progress especially wrt longevity. It should be lauded especially since black entertainment is hardly the commercial force that it used to be as your post is implying.

- Didn't Rihanna's people just last week announce that she went plat already? I don't think Rihanna has been affected yet. It's too early to tell. Besides you're comparing an album release to a single release. You could compare "Work" to "Formation" for a better comparison though. - Most labels and artist want the bragging rights of saying they have the No. 1 album/song in the country. As I stated earlier, Beyonce can claim to be the baddest bitch in the game, queen/king B and all but you see she didn't dare release anything until Adele's numbers became more reachable for her to reach No. 1. Respect has nothing to do with it, it was common sense. Don't have to be smart or brilliant for that one. - Since you mention Jan, I'd have to say "Black Eagle" also does the movement justice for a modern day reference.

I think it's tactless of her to even say that, trying to come off as humble but sounding like she believes she's the biggest act ever

Agreed. She just can't comprehend the fact that Adele blows her out of the water really... Trolls be gone!

Here's something to think about....the longer that Rihanna deals with Jay-Z the more that she'll be underpromoted. She needs to break away from Jay-Z to reach her fullest potential, otherwise she'll have her career sabotaged by her (former) lover Jay...Anyway, Beyonce did the whole phony "black power" thing at the Super Bowl because she KNOWS her fan base is quite monolitic and she doesn't have the same diversity of other pop acts. I mean think about it, most of her fans are typically 21-32, black, female, or gay black men. She has a smattering of fans overseas but the lionshare of her fan base are from the aforementioned...I think Rihanna is the bigger star on an international scale though. Trolls be gone!

Beyoncé never said that she was holding back the release of her album because of Adele. Don't y'all realize that they have two different audiences, demographics and etc? Bey has Urban/Rhythmic R&B on lock especially as a radio format. They aren't in competition with each other.
Hell, Adele is part of the Hive! She loves Beyoncé/DC and always have. The only thing is that Adele is more popular now and part of that is she still fairly new whereas Bey is the Consistent Veteran who has a majorly loyal fan base that goes beyond trends, (sub-)genres, and other aspects that keep most acts from acheiving longevity.
Anyone who puts out an album without putting a couple of singles before its released is obviously not scared to release it whenever they want to. It's a shame that many of you don't get it and don't want to. Instead of constantly bashing her, this board should be lauding her for keeping the "90s Black Girl Group Era" alive commercially at a time when Contemporary R&B and black entertainer on a whole is slumbering as a commercial entity.

- I agree that Rih Rih had generated some mometum last year but apparently she didn't like the overall direction of the project. She canned it and revamped, I can respect that. - I agree with your assessment in bold. Everyone wants their record to debut No. 1. It's just part of the business. - I still say it's too early to write off Rihanna's project yet. The verdict is still out in my humble opinion. Rihanna has more often performed well in her singles than albums anyway. We'll see. - I think they'll both do well in the end, meanwhile, Jay Z and Adele will be sitting back laughing counting their paper.

. I'm over it! I appreciate that you don't like her. It's cool: she's another divisive pop star. I just question the wide-spread conspiracy theories, which are impossible to engage with, and the refrain that people who like her need to "wake up", which you yourself wrote just the other day. I DO like her, nothing naive about it. "Get over it".
