I find it so disposible, it's not even worth listening to the second half, let alone a second time. It's empty!

It's the most blatantly afrocentric thing she's ever done.

So many people will not like this.

i'm sorry but I found a LAW that said the words Beyonce and Afrocentric can NEVER be said in the same sentence, so there may be some ppl at your door soon Cinny

That ain't me lol

I frankly don't give a rip where she's from, her parents, her husband, her child. There is nothing there except the kind of fan facts you'd find in a teen zine.

It's DEFINITELY got a "slop" factor about it. The beats are strange, but I'm tryin' 2 pull sumpthin' out of it that I like and not sure what that sumpthin' even IS. She look aMAZING as always! smile

This had to be the biggest joke in this article. She just had enough common sense to not even try to release anything new close to that British Beast named Adele's album release. lol Respect my ass.

It's funny how this is said and then she drops this song, talking about afrocentrism (however you spell it) and black power just a week after fellow black female singer Rihanna dropped her album. So much for supporting your own.

Anyway whoever legitimately believes Beyonce withheld her album out of respect for Adele (literally the first time I have ever heard this said for anybody in music) is either full of it or drinking that media made Kool Aid. We all know why Beyonce didn't dare put out anything when 25 was reigning over the charts and so does she lol

Yeah, Beyonce didn't release anything out of respect for Adele the same way she performed "Take My Hand, Precious Lord" out of respect for Ledisi last year.

Exactly!

She has no problem giving poor little innocent America's sweet heart Taylor Swift the microphone so she can have "her moment" OR lettig Adele "have her moment" to shine (as if that bish really believes she can even compete with Adele nuts )

BUT

THEN

in the same vein

then has the audacity to go behind Ledisi's back and sings LEDISI's nominated Grammy song at the Grammy's disbelief AND then she releases her new single the same week as Rihanna (both African American women that she tries to overshadow rolleyes )........ I just can't with this woman... I just really can't.

The video is cool. I like it a lot. As for the song however, total TRASH with stupid, nonsensical lyrics. Of course it will be a hit but the song isn't good at all.

I agree on all counts.

I just noticed that it was the first time she seemed to take a blunt black stand in her lyrics and video.

It can all be a ruse.

It's funny who she seems to respect and whom she doesn't.

She seems like she's now a shit-hop/pop artist at this point, (thanks Vain Andy). It will be interesting to see how mainstream folks feel about the lyrics of her new single tomorrow -- it could backfire 'cause it could come across as a bit too pro black. The "Stop shooting us" moment could be considered her answer to the black lives matter movement.. I guess lol, who knows lol. Or maybe her making a thinly veiled attempt at making a statement or expressing an opinion on the issue. I know I'm reaching here lol. Regardless, this was just a long winded advertisement to announce her next tour. Her daughter looks just like her dad...

What BS, Adele's sales would not be affected by a Beyoncé Cd, this whole generation is stupid, can't put two CDs out at once? No one competes this is why no one gets better, this is why Beyoncé has been singing the same nonsense for two decades no growth at all, now she pulls in Adele, like they have the same music buyers, so full of herself it's amazing.

Well you see what happened when Tamar and Janet released their albums on the same day.

The Twitterverse was on fire comparing those numbers. It was insane. As if either would even come close to the numbers Toni or Janet was pulling in the 90's.

The video doesn't make sense at all...but that beat in the song is fire. It would had slayed if the lyrics weren't so vain and elementary. She actually seems desperate. Why her and her husband keep talking about all their expensive material shit and worshipping all the money they have made is beyond me. Umm duh, we know y'all both each make millions but why do you have to announce that with every song you put out? It's old and redundant. She could have been more creative in the message for this song but in classic Beyoncé fashion...same shit, different year. Yet they will be blasting this song on the radio and at parties like its the second coming. rolleyes

The spinning of trying to make it into some type of social commentary in the realm of "What's Going On" by Marvin Gaye is fucking laughable.
