Great album though. Lazarus is probably my favourite. Also Michael C Hall did a pretty good performance of it on some talk show the other week.

So glad that he got the album out and got the good reviews.

I don't fucking believe it. Not a sign. He was so busy living he didn't have time for dying. That makes this album even more poignant. Now I know what Lazarus is about. A great one gone before his time...

Without wanting to start a fight, does anyone else think the last track on the album is (musically) the kind of thing Prince could/should be doing now if he wasn't too busy writing party jams and seduction ballads ? The synths sound quite Little Red Corvette/Stand Back-ish, with added jazz horns. Even the guitar solo is similar to his kinda playing.

Obviously the song itself is a totally different mood but I could see him grooving on this one on a good day.

I change my mind. 'I Can't Give Everything Away' is now my favourite.

I decided I could only get into one Bowie album at a time, not counting Blackstar which I've been playing constantly. I was going to start with Diamond Dogs, per Org recommendations, but I took at a gander at the Young Americans record on youtube and became quickly obsessed. I had no idea he was funky at one point. This is going to be quite a long and interesting ride. Thanks Org, and thank you David!

I'm glad it will be interesting for you...and not painful as it is for me and other people. There are so many great albums... I always bought the Ryko cds for the extras. But one of my favorites (which I will listen to again when I can) is this one:

If you can (if they aren't over-priced with his demise :eyeroll:) buy the Ryko cds that have great sound and bonus cuts. Otherwise, buy original vinyl, if you can.
