This 2014 book is about the promotional guys of the record labels called "record men". It begins at the invention of the phonautograph in 1857. Acording to a later chapter, many of the early CDs were manufactured from cassette masters instead of the ones made for vinyl as there wasn't a special master mixed for CD. I finished reading it a few days ago. Interesting book.
