There's a new song with Missy that she performed tonight and it is BEYOND hot. Someone Instagrammed a video of the opening of the show (it's Janet in silhouette set against a huge screen of what looks like a phoenix and hundreds of birds flying around) and it slayed beyond words. First review I found....Doesn't really detail the show much but its a start.... - http://www.ew.com/article/2015/09/01/janet-jackson-tour-missy-elliott-new-song - Janet Jackson kicks off world tour with new song featuring Missy Elliott- Janet Jackson began her Unbreakable World Tour in Vancouver on Monday night, and opened the show up with a new track featuring Missy Elliott. Little is known about the song, though its title was reported as “Burn It Up,” and it’s expected to be on Jackson’s forthcoming album, Unbreakable. - Before Janet performed, Elliott, who last collaborated with Jackson on “Son of a Gun,” tweeted “positive vibes” for Jackson, but kept the track a secret. Later in the night she called it a “clubbanggger.” - Positive vibes to my sis @JanetJackson the opening of her tour 2night! U r UNBREAKABLE - can't front that new @JanetJackson is a clubbangger @flytetymejam & terry merked dat beathttps://twitter.com/erika_ashley85/status/638554172120412160 …

Two questions: Is there a costume change? Nastie Janet is not appearing, while a she straddles a guy? Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/09/02/arts/music/review-janet-jackson-unbreakable-tour-vancouver.html?_r=0 - Review: Janet Jackson, in Vancouver on Unbreakable World Tour, Shows Off Her Demure Side- - "VANCOUVER, British Columbia — A newly demure Janet Jackson started her Unbreakable World Tour at Rogers Arena here on Monday night. She was dressed in white and covered, like her dancers and musicians, from shoulders to shoes. And she avoided one big subset of her songwriting: her salacious, sometimes kinky whispers. That left Ms. Jackson, 49, to play the many other, less titillating roles that have given her major hits and made her an enduring influence across pop and R&B. - It has been four years since Ms. Jackson toured, and seven since she released a studio album; she has announced the impending release of a new one, “Unbreakable.” In 2012, Ms. Jackson married a Qatari businessman, Wissam al-Mana, and largely disappeared from public view before resurfacing to tour. Her Vancouver concert included three unreleased songs and the insinuating “No Sleeep,” the first single from “Unbreakable.” The concert’s finale, a ballad with Motown roots, was presumably the album’s title song; it praised enduring love, announcing, “It’s unbreakable.” - In songs and videos as early as her 1986 album “Control,” Ms. Jackson staked out possibilities that have been seized by many younger hit makers. Her songs with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, her longtime collaborators in songwriting and production, extrapolated from both Michael Jackson and Prince — then seen as rivals — while adding the Olympian optimism of Diana Ross and her own increasingly explicit eroticism. But even her risqué details were usually proffered to a man she loved, making romance carnal. - In Vancouver, her Unbreakable tour set arrived as medleys that touched on as many hits as possible, grouping the songs by persona and tempo. She was the woman taking charge (funk), the joyfully loyal lover (upbeat pop), the ballad singer, the woman left lonely (midtempo R&B), the party girl (dance-club beats), the rocker (with guitar up front) and, in the end, the idealist. - She also established her hip-hop connections. The opening song, a new one about D.J.s and dancing, had Missy Elliott rapping (on video) in praise of Ms. Jackson, and Ms. Jackson’s “Any Time, Any Place” was updated with a bit of Kendrick Lamar’s “Poetic Justice,” which had sampled that song. J. Cole, also on video, rapped on “No Sleeep.” - Most of the songs based their arrangements on the album tracks, propulsive and bustling. Yet when the band was pared back for ballads, Ms. Jackson’s exposed voice was still secure, never as delicate as she could make it sound. The rock songs included “Scream” as a duet with the voice of Michael Jackson; she belted it with a raw urgency. - Life is still a line dance for Ms. Jackson. For most of her concert, she was flanked by dancers in white who staked out geometric formations and usually echoed her every angular move: the jutting elbows, the quick head turns, the canted legs, the precise hip twitches, some of them familiar from the choreography of her old video clips. The dancers are her retinue and her troops, maybe even her cult, a vision of strength and solidarity even when Ms. Jackson was singing about one-on-one relationships. - As the concert neared its end, Ms. Jackson moved from the personal to the communal, summoning the staccato funk and calls for collective action of “Rhythm Nation”; suddenly, the number of onstage dancers more than doubled, all moving in sync. Next came a new song: a ballad that marched its way toward an anthem, part U2 and part trance music. The video screens showed photographs of the poor and homeless, as well as a shot with a Canadian message, with a protester’s sign addressing the country’s prime minister: “Harper: No Tar Sands Pipelines.” Her dancers pumped fists in the air, and she sang, “We won’t accept excuses / We tolerate no abuses” and “Make this world a better place.” It was the virtuous Janet Jackson, the one that was always there."

Has anyone heard snippets or the full song "After You Fall" yet? Apparently that's one of the new ones too. Probably a mid-tempo or ballad looking at the setlist. Could be wrong though... - Caught a 20 sec. video of the the album track, "Unbreakable". Niiiice! Feels good hearing it just from the 20 second clip.

- I liked what I've heard so far. I'm sure even the studio recordings will bring out even more highlights from them.

Is anyone else getting a classic Jackson 5 vibe from the "Unbreakable" clip? (Not to mention the Slick Rick sample of course)

I am in LOVE with the new tracks. The Missy track needs to be the next single, followed by Should've Known Better.

Love'd seeing chunks of the concert on Periscope (which I've never heard of lol). Even though the video and sound left a lot to be desired, I liked the new songs and I'm really looking forward to the new album and tour. I didn't think J could dance that well in those "harem" pants, but she did! "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

i dont really know what they mean by demure, all i can say is from all the video ive seen she's dancing like non stop except the ballads section, she added alot of new choreo and did some cool changes with some of the songs, this tour is not like the last one. her clothes dont bother me, i'd rather see more performing than costume changes.she's dancing much better than the last 2 tours also.

I still don't think Janet is "all in it" imho. I think she is over the music industry and I think this is just something she is doing for her fans and as a way of "giving back". From the clips I saw, her dancing is much better than the last tour. However, her costume doesn't do justice to her choregraphy. I wish she make better costume choices but she looks great and I love the Should Have Known Betta song, really nice. I wish she would bring some of her iconic clothing back and make more costume changes. From fans that posted the time limit, the show is not that long so she could fit in more costume changes if she wanted. She could change into the Rhythm Nation attire, Alright attire, etc you know some of her iconic attires. Maybe she might do it in the future, will see.

I'm so proud of Janet. She has nothing to prove anymore. She is rich beyond compare. So for to come back for her fans is very humbling. She's a class act!!
Also to honor her husbands believes and cover herself from head to toe. Shows her "TRUE LOVE" for him... will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.
